private school vouchers in North Carolina

4

Apr 20, 2023, 11:48 AM

So the GOP now has veto proof margins in the NC General Assembly and is pushing a school voucher bill that is not means tested and is otherwise intended to be generally available.

I used to oppose vouchers but, given the way I've personally witnessed school districts being run in Charlotte, I say bring it on - we have nothing to lose

More evidence the GOP is just as bad as the DNC.

Vouchers are just a socialist bandaid on a commie dumpster-fire. They'll just result in ever-increasing government spending and declining quality of education.

There will be short term gains, in certain areas, of course.

The real solution is to end communist education (government owned and operated.) Make it the parents' responsibility. Kids who's parents suck - voluntary charity can deal with that.

Leftists HATE the idea of charity though because a charity can refuse service if you act like an a$$hole. So there would be some modicum of personal responsibility, and that goes against their religion.

Because the left needs control of your kids in public schools for 12 years in order to teach them to hate certain groups, including their country and their parents. Public school indoctrination is a cornerstone of left wing propaganda.

what is a private school voucher in this context?

Apr 20, 2023, 1:24 PM

something for us, or something for the gubmint?

serious question - I don't politik

It’s a good thing.

Apr 20, 2023, 1:28 PM

They take a healthy portion of the money that would have been spent on your kid to go to public school and give it back to you ti be used at a private school if your kid isn’t in said public system.

Meck school board has been embarrassing for 25+ years

1

Apr 20, 2023, 1:32 PM

They treat kids, busing, and school assignment boundaries as political footballs.

We GTHO of there before kids started school, but in the 9 years we lived there from 99 to 08, our home was assigned to 4 different high schools of vastly varying quality. When school assignment changed, only rising seniors got to grandfather in to original school.
