100% trying to be sober on this one…

Habaneros are the perfect pepper. Pickled or plain. The heat gives the endorphin rush that is needed, plus they are fruity and sweet, and then the heat will take you home. I’ve had the hotter peppers and my gut doesn’t approve. Treat them right, pickle them, and you will be in heaven. Basic pickle with vinegar, salt, and a little sugar. Your biggest decision will be hot pickle or cold. Crisp peppers or hot vinegar? Look up the recipes online and pick. But I like them all… when habanero is involved.

Have not had them but do piggle stuff

Aug 24, 2022, 1:34 PM

don't have a set recipe but just google around and take ideas from different ones. Look up quick piggling. It's a matter of combining some liquid (vinegar)/sugar/spices and bringing it to a boil, then filling up a jar with that and the solids.

Would highly recommend slicing the habs. Always a good idea to add some onion y carrots to the piggled stuffs.

I pickle lotso stuff. 60/40 white vinegar to water ratio

add salt, don't fugg with sugar. For habs, I would heat water/vin solution to almost a boil, throw in some peppercorns and lemon peel, they will brighten the flavor of the habs, throw in the chopped habs and let sit until room temp. Then put in mason jar, get the plastic tops and throw in fridge. This is a quick pickle, so no need to use the sealed jars, they'll last several months in fridge.

^^^All of this and add a clove of garlic

It somehow helps the taste of anything pickled.
