Other universities using the Clemson Tiger Paw?

Jul 21, 2006, 8:52 AM

Just wondering, I know we allow high schools to use it.

What's the university's policy on this? Yesterday while driving around Washington, DC I saw the Fort Valley State University wildcats bus with Clemson trademark Tiger paws all over the back of it, multiple colors (green and yellow) in multiple directions.

I saw an orange Auburn shirt last week...

with a big Tiger Paw on the back. It looked identical, except it wasn't tilted to 1PM.

I thought it was a Clemson shirt, until the girl turned around.

Auburn sells the exact same magnetic tiger paws.***

Don't their magnets have blue on them?

I think they do. I'll have to ask my AU sister. We looked up Clemson-Auburn football record dating back as far as we could....they own us. It was something like 33-17. I don't remember exactly.

My understanding is the exact orientation angle and color is what makes it a Clemson Paw.

Center part of the paw. That is an actual tiger's mark made years ago. That signifies "Clemson's" paw.

If that isn;t there.....they could call it a bear claw

Notre Dame will be wearing a Tiger Paw on their rear end...

Ferrum College uses a yellow paw.

That may be my fault though.

Our Paw is trademarked, nobody else uses it

Jul 21, 2006, 9:22 AM

Some high schools use a paw, but it isn't ours. The Clemson paw has the cut in the large pad, that's what makes it a Clemson paw. Other schools don't have the cut. Might sound like a minor difference, but that's how I tell if it is official CU merchandise.

I've seen the AU magnetic paws, they have the J hook.***
