Wow I remember Rolack. He was great but the receivers were had the past 15 years were just better. I believe J. Ford was much faster than Rolack. So were Williams, Higgins, and Rogers. But Ford smoaks them all.

Jacoby Ford's official 40-yard dash time was 4.28 seconds, which he ran at the 2010 NFL Combine. Some scouts had him clocked even faster, with hand times ranging from 4.18 to 4.23 seconds.

A 4.18 would be the fastest 40 of any football player ever so that must have to be an unofficial time.

In 1999, Clemson track and field superstar who went on to win the gold in 2004 and silver in 2008 in the 200 meter, Shawn Crawford, was a walk-on wide receiver, RB and then moved to DB and had no problem throwing his body around making hits. Didn't see the field much, if at all, but TB talked about him highly in practice.
He might win it.

It never seemed that Jacoby's track speed translated as well w/ pads on him..........he was fast, but always seemed like CJ (RB) was faster w/ pads and Sammy was as fast as any WR that I remember at Clemson.
He's also been outta sight outta mind, but Airese Currie was fast at the time in early 2000s

I agree that is it Jacoby Ford. Ford has official times that the other players don't. Like Cole Turner. Some people project him to be faster but based on analysis of what he has done it is significantly slower than Ford's 4.28 at the NFL combine. I have seen estimates that Turners 40yd would be between 4.45 and 4.5.
