You and I both know the only reason she wants to do this is to attract attention to the bellyless shirts that will dominate her wardrobe for all seasons going forward. Well, that and the gram.
So maybe it's framed with her like "hey, I hearya. Let's enjoy being 14 for now. Big landmarks ahead what with HS, driving cars, etc. You ain't 18 yet and there's no rush to be an adult. Let's get through this other stuff, stay locked in on grades, etc. then make grown decisions when we are closer to grown, mmmmkay?".

Same reason there are age limits on tattoos, drinking, driving, buying weed, and even working.
I mean, a parent can consent to all of that but like it probably just needs to wait.
Ok for a 17 yr old to drink with parental consent at home. Ok fine. But like, is that a good thing? I don't think so. Kids are gonna kid, but I'm not here to promote nor condone it. Grades and behavior bedamned.

but I'd argue there is much more harm in the things you compared. Tattoos are permanent, drinking driving and buying weed have can have long term effects and consequences associated with doing them.
You can just take a belly ring out.
Is it what I would want, probably not... but my mom always said no to anything and everything and I don't necessarily agree that led to long term sound decision making (not me, I've got 2 sisters) or gave us the ability to communicate with parents effectively.
There's a short time frame in life where you have the body or the desire to show it off.

I mean, smoking a joint will wear off and not impair her brain's ability to form. And yes maybe those were extreme examples.
For me the bigger issue is simply wanting to draw attention to herself for reasons that are IMO shallow and no bueno for a 14 yr old. Shoot, I'd say the same about a 16 or 17 yr old.
And it's not a flat out NO, it's more like a here's-why-you-should-wait.
My 17 yr old turns 18 within the next 2 weeks. Says she's going to get a tattoo on her birthday. I'm like well, go ahead. You certainly can do so. I personally would encourage waiting as it's permanent and the concept of doing dang near ANYTHING the second you are finally able seems a bit impulsive. You can still do it 6 months or 3 years on.
I personally think one of the best assets we have as humans is time. We can use it to our advantage by in many cases using INACTION to bring clarity to impactful decisions that need to be made.

Not at all. I've acknowledged to her it's totally her decision and right for that matter. I can't and won't try to stop it. I'm not even discouraging it (well, maybe to a degree), rather I'm appealing for her to simply wait...give it some time and see if she still wants to do it. She has an entire life to contemplate this if she wants.
She may have that MF on her by noon the day she turns 18. Don't know and really don't care. I just want to give her the best advice I know how and it's on her beyond that.
Now, if she were 16 wanting one it would have been a FACKNOGURLOVERMYDEADBODY.

I'd be more concerned with the HS seniors. The 17 and 18 yr olds. Certain other adults. It's not right but it would be naive to not acknowledge it. That may not be appropriate discussion for her at her age, but likely should be a data point in helping her make a sound decision.
Anecdotally I have a few family members (kids of cousins) that went this route at the same age. Let's just say these kids are F'ing disasters at ages that range between 16 and 20. Certainly the belly piercing wasn't the sole cause of this. I get that. And maybe these few instances have jaded me on it.

dress coded. I told her that I strongly encourage her to not wear that shirt to school. I requested that she take a shirt with her so that when she has to change, she has one to wear. She wore it and the school DGAF. Then I started paying attention when I drove by the school (she rides with someone else, I drive by to take son to middle school) and there must not be a dress code. I see cleavage, stomachs, butt cheeks, etc.

and I just turned 55 so I'm an official old fart.
(1) Wife-of had her belly button pierced when I met her. She was 19/20 and very in-shape. She was from North Myrtle Beach and it was very much a beach thing at the time. Fast fwd to today...she says she wishes she hadn't done it. I guess she can see the marks and, of course, she's not in the same shape she was when we met.
(2) It very well could be my age, but when I see girls with their belly button pierced, the first thing I think is that she must be "wild". I have no idea how kids these days see that now. And just because other people think one way about things, that shouldn't be the reason to do something or not, but I think we're fooling ourselves if we think most teenage girls don't care about how they're perceived by others.
For context, I won't let my 15 yo daughter get a 2nd set of ear piercings, so...

I'm super a super conservative dresser myself now, I do have my ears double pierced from when I was 18 and did it because my mom wouldn't let me but that's about it.

14yo (son) that is very responsible, all A's, plays sports and is very respectful. So, I understand where you are coming from in a way. When we have these types of discussions, I try putting myself in his shoes and go from there. My thoughts are; In five years from now, will it make a difference and how will it impact his life. I'm sure you all will make the right decision. I know I'm probably not much help.

2.5'd the liquid. Went double soy, double water, then added about a .5 portion of low sodium teriyaki sauce.
Shredded meat and left it in the liquid.
Mucho improvement, still delish.

I wouldn't fret about it either way. What you want to fight against is ink. Ink is a scar for life and the kids who inked their bodies so heavily in the early 2000s are starting to feel the regret.
