NPR has 87 Editors with O being a Republican BUT

Head Lady CEO said yesterday before Congressional Committee that she saw no political bias!

You can’t make this up..plus she denied or forgot every bias statement or left-wing book she said she’d read on FB and other social platforms.

This organization as well as the TV version need to be defunded by public funds and let their Left-wing & Dem donators fund them.

Also, a radio caller said that the Repubs needed to put up a bill where $200 Million is allocated for NPR and $200 Million for FOX Radio..

And knowing the Dems will go crazy and vote the bill down, then we’d be sure to get rid of NPR.

Ha..

doesn't seem like a good way to run an unbiased network.

I've seen a couple of articles posted in this forum lately from NPR that seemed to be leaning a little too hard to the left.

It's definitely to the left, because the ideas are liberal. It's all about the needs of the people. The station is all about social issues and the needs of the people which tends to favor liberals. They push the government helping. It's not some fire breathing anti Republican station though. Their views are liberal though.

SMH "the needs of the people"

No people in the USA have any desperate needs compared to the rest of the planet. And any needs you believe they do have exist because the gubment has taken away their ability to be self-reliant and made them generationally dependent.

That's the definition of Systemic Racism brought to you by the Democratic Party.

"Concerned by the lack of viewpoint diversity, I looked at voter registration for our newsroom. In D.C., where NPR is headquartered and many of us live, I found 87 registered Democrats working in editorial positions and zero Republicans. None."

I often have NPR on in the car and remember one of their hosts interviewing someone about diversity and bringing up Berliner's criticism and indignantly saying that everyone he's ever worked with at NPR is unbiased and fair. That's the biggest tell sign of all. When confronted with such overwhelming evidence of a bias, there was no "It is our intent to be unbiased and fair and we will look at this information and our reporting and ensure that we are meeting those standards." There's only indignation and wagon-circling. Mainstream news has done the same thing when accused of bias...guffaw. Demean the accusers as right-wing rubes. Not an ounce of introspection.

Anyway, as I said, I often listen to NPR because regardless of bias, sometimes they have some good stories and when they do, they are patient and thorough with them, and I enjoy that. But anyone who listens to NPR and claims to detect no bias is either a liar or so far off the left-side of the spectrum that anything less than the most crazed left-wing agenda would be considered "even-handed" to them.

To me NPR used to seem more left slant kind of like WSJ was a little more right slant, but now it seems like NPR has gone further to the left. They still have some pretty decent shows, if you can tolerate the biased reporting.

network. But it's far more left leaning...maybe since Trump, I'm not sure. But anyone who listens to it and denies that...well, I am not sure what to say.

They do a great job of covering human interest stories with some depth, so if it is interesting, I enjoy their full reporting rather than the 30 second blurbs you get elsewhere. Kind of like CBS Sunday Morning (which I really never watch but they have the same kind of approach). But overall, the network is absolutely obsessed with identity politics. Sometimes I'll turn it on and see how long they can go without making identity politics a central part of whatever they are talking about. It usually doesn't take but a minute.

Science and truth have become “leftist” issues, while proud ignorance has become the central character of America’s right. There are still a lot of smart conservatives who understand the real world, and maybe someday when this pseudo-populist fever has broken, people will listen to them again. Every day, a few more Trump voters realize he is effing them and the country. It’s going to be a slow process.

NPR's left turn predates Trump. If you look at a website or listen to multiple talk shows, and it's mostly the bashing of one party and rarely finding fault with the other, then you're dealing with biased opinion pieces. I get it. NPR is tax payer funded, and this type of thing is something that is generally supported by Democrats. They have to obey their masters.

If you're going to NPR at this point and believe NPR is somehow politically even handed journalism, then you are probably highly susceptible to the influence of confirmation bias. I'm not saying it's as bad as Fox or MSNBC, but NPR's political bias is pretty apparent.

Right now, you have one party trying to unravel America and take us back to the days when another syphilitic king was in charge. George III was syphilitic exactly like the orange fuhrer. Both of them ran raw with pro’s and pron stars. I don’t know how you can find a way to split time on criticism until Republicans stop trying to destroy the country.

One party tried to remove the opposition's candidate from multiple state ballots, so that people would not be able to vote for him. That behavior was rejected by the American people, as this nonsense will be. I hope for two new parties; however, conjecture moves me to believe the vice grips of the two major parties will not relent.

NPR has devolved from being a relatively reliable news source, with a slight leftie lean, to the taxpayer version of MSNBC all within the last decade or so. This hate filled racist witch who has led this devolution is obviously quite ok with this phenomenon as are all the knuckle dragging cretins who love to hear their world views soothingly recited back to them over the airwaves. Nothing wrong with it existing in general but zero reason for any taxpayer to be footing any of their bills.

I haven’t listened in a while, but enjoyed some of the bluegrass and in depth stories.

However, when I did listen NPR had a left slant although a pleasant non hectoring left slant, along the lines of a nice college professor in a well worn tweed jacket who drove a 15 yr old Volvo.

Having said that, I don’t see why NPR should be taxpayer funded.

Try listening to public radio for 10 minutes vs commercial radio for 10 minutes. Note: commercial radio is OTA and free. It’s not SXM.

That’s because republicans are not interested in news. They focus on dropping spin, con jobs, lies on old rural gullible folks.

If you want to hire employees that acknowledge reality you inherently aren’t going to hire clueless idiots that believe anything a failed real estate developer says.
