Threw a perfect game. Kinda surprised by that.

There have only been 39 recorded perfect games in mlb history and 15 in college since 1959. Not sure why this is surprising. If this was an attempt at a humorous post, you didn't make it out of the batter's box.

Probably feel the same for no one finishing the season batting .700.

No college pitcher should do that it risks his arm

It would probably take over 120 pitches to that. That is too likely to damage the arm. If many batters were first pitch hitting early doing it with only 100 pitches would be unlikely as after the 5th inning they would start trying for walks.

yeah they coddle arms far too much in modern times compared to what used to be done. Not talking about the dudes out there doing 102 every other pitch but average guys in the 90's. Their arms are quite capable of doing more than we routinely ask

It is surprising.

I would have thought more would have been thrown overall in college baseball. Common sense tells you a pitcher with good enough stuff that day to get close, 6 or 7 innings, he’s obviously got his good stuff that day so his pitch count will more likely be much lower. A pitcher that throws once a week should absolutely be able to go 120 pitches with no problem. Pitching to bad contact is the thing that is not being taught much anymore.

Still love to listen to interviews with Glavine and Maddux and their intention to get that 2 pitch at bat, not even considering a K. Madduxs 79 or 89 pitch complete game that was over in around 1 hour and 35 minutes against San Diego in the 90’s is something you probably won’t see again.

Who was at Founders Park when Clemson one-hit the Coots on a cold Friday night? I was.
