NCAA tennis national titles today in Waco

For those who care.

Women’s final: Georgia vs Texas A&M , 5pm eastern

Men’s final: Wake Forest vs TCU, 8pm eastern

TCU going for back to back titles and 2nd national title for TCU athletics this year as beach volleyball just won a couple of weeks ago. Wake Forest trying to finish off a 40-1 season and win their 2nd national title (they won their first in 2018).

Best record win wise for Clemson all time was back in 1980,32-5 overall and 6-0 in the ACC

Thwre have been a few undefeated national champs in history

Most recently 2013 Virginia and 2004 Illinois.

1998 Stanford is widely regarded to be the greatest team of all time. They have the Bryan brothers (who went on to be the best pro doubles team of all time). Not only did they go unbeaten but only lost a handful of courts at all during the year.

But in recent years this Wake team is definitely historic. Nobody has ever won 40 matches in a year, so the amount is crazy. Also you can argue that college tennis is way tougher and has a lot more talent spread out around the country now than in 1998.
