I live in Martinez, CA. Of course, the pub where the martini was invented is long gone but there is a National Historic Register marker on the building where the pub was. Other than being the birthplace of Joe Dimaggio and the International Bocce capital of the world, that's about all that Martinez is famous for.

I always thought coffee was for old people! When I was growing up only old people drank it (in the 70’s). I remember my grandparents drinking it with dinner at the Western Sizzlin and Quincy’s 🤮 just pukey. I still don’t drink it but everyone around me does. Glad I don’t because my Starbucks spending would be ridiculous. I’ll let my daughter know about martini day. I’m sure she’ll want to celebrate
