who make it into main stream follow patterns.
Nothing wrong with that as think how many put on a hat and entertained us as the next George Strait.

A very few are "unique" and cannot be covered.

Imagine what we would have missed if someone had not talked him into singing.
He thought his voice was not good enough. He is one of my alltime favs.

Bob Dylan is one of those dudes. I had an English teacher that did the Dylan and Dylan thing ling before the movie. Turned me on to some cool poetry. I took a couple poetry survey courses thanks to her.

Dylan is probably the greatest writer of our time, but his singing.....not so much. one of my favorites is Forever Young. The Band did a great job playing it with him.

He hooked in to protesting every thing "the man" did. He was better at that than most as he had a bigger audience.

I disagree.
Dylan wrote and performed tunes that inspired many, but his vocal and instrumental skills were limited.

I’m with you on this, tugaloo. Dylan was a great song writer but for my money, Paul Simon was better musically and lyrically.

I like Roy Orbison. For me "Blue Bayou" is one of his best along with "Mean Woman Blues".

Frankie Valli is 90 years old and I believe still performs.

Clint Eastwood Directed the movie "The Jersey Boys" (about the Four Seasons) which was really good in my opinion.

Also check out You Tube with the US Navy Sea Chanters and they do several Four Season songs. Pretty cool.
