Louisville President, "There's going to be a lot of shake

out yet"

I prefer Connecticut to Louisville. There is also a lot of talk out there that Swoffie is going for ACC schools to sign a grant-of-rights. That would have been ok before losing Maryland. At this point if anyone in power at Clemson signs a GOR, they should be fired on the spot.

Here is the link to the Louisville Pres comments.

WHAT IS A GRANT OF RIGHTS?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Basically it means

Nov 21, 2012, 9:09 PM

The school has relinquished it's TV rights for the term of the contract. The Big 12 has one now. So if Oklahoma were to leave all TV revenues for the Sooners would go to the Big 12. The Big 12's grant of rights is for 13 yrs. that basically means nobody in the Big 12 can leave the conf.

I doubt the ACC goes this route given the uncertainty right now however it wouldn't shock me to see some schools pushing for it though. I certainly hope Clemson doesn't accept it.

I'll bet coah K, of all people is pushing for it. Notice he

Nov 21, 2012, 9:12 PM

spoke out the other day about the ACC needs to gather everyone and see that we secure who we have etc. etc.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Big 12 grant of rights was for 6 year (5 more years). WVU

Nov 21, 2012, 9:31 PM [ in reply to Basically it means ]

could be in the ACC in 3 to 5 years without much trouble.

I would rather wai for WVU than settle for Uconn or LV.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The number I've always seen is 13 years. I agree I'd rather

Nov 21, 2012, 9:41 PM

wait for WVU, but that is not likely. First of all we might not have five years, second, WVU would probably not leave the Big12 at that time. It was a huge mistake for the ACC to not take WVU last year.

yep, the way WV went out there and tore that conference a

new one, they'll never want to leave....

Just curious, why in the world would you prefer UConn over

Nov 21, 2012, 9:00 PM

Louisville? At least L'ville has a football team once in a while. Even when UConn has a decent year, no one notices.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I really don't have a good answer for you. I just feel like

Nov 21, 2012, 9:13 PM [ in reply to Just curious, why in the world would you prefer UConn over ]

it would be better.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Interesting Q and A out of Louisville. But it really

Nov 21, 2012, 9:09 PM

addresses al lot of the questions any fan might have about realignment.

Why in the hell would you want UConn over Louisville?

Louisville has a higher upside in Football and they are just as good in Bball.

Facilities are way above UConn also.

Is this all we have to pick from?

Geeeez

Seems so. THe homerun would be to somehow get

Nov 22, 2012, 5:12 PM

WVU. THat ship has sailed I'm afraid. Getting WVU would actually mean we came out ahead on this and remained contiguous. Big mistake for the ACC to turn away West Virginia the first time.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes no one else

Nov 21, 2012, 11:14 PM

No new school will fix the acc but we have schools in now that are breaking it i.e Wake Forest. Only options to add: 1) ND full. 2) PSU 3)Louisville 4) whoever FSU wants to to not leave

I don't think 1 and 2 are real possibilities but can hope and pray
