33-2 in Death Valley since 2011?
Jul 31, 2016, 12:01 AM

|
I think that is right. Loss to USuC in 2012 and FSU in 2013? In fact Dabo is 42-6? (The other 4 losses GT 2008, TCU 2009, and Miami and TCU 2010)
If we can't beat Louisville then we want beat Auburn.
I like our chances to be 40-2 in Death Valley (since 2011) by the end of the 2016 season!
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe Louisville didn't hear that Bama had the #1 defense that Clemson scored 40 points on. They will take their Death Valley Tiger A$S whipping, and they can learn from it, or just be mad about it. Either way, it will be a Tiger win bc they will get their A$SES beat in Clemson's Death Valley. The real Death Valley!!!!!

Louisville has a lot of respect for Clemson, and our fans know that beating you guys at home will be tough. You and FSU are the targets and we won't keep it a secret that you two are the ones to beat. The past couple of years we've been rebuilding and know we haven't come close to our full potential, yet we somehow keep it close when we play and find we're in it till the last play. I think this is the first year since joining the ACC that the coaches, and players feel they are firing on all cylinders and the fans can feel that. What I'm saying is it should be a good game.

Agree that it will be a good game. I think most Clemson fans would rank the Louisville game in our top 3 for toughest games this year. FSU is generally the game most consider will be the toughest. Louisville and Auburn are generally in second and third place, but the order for these two teams is one debate we are having.
I like our chances with this game for many reasons, but home field advantage for this game is huge!

FSU will be competative. The Auburn, Louisville, GT, and Pitt games might be competative but could be blow outs. The rest I don't see being competative at all. Prediction: 12-0

Louisville has a good squad no doubt. No question we will be the best team Louisville plays and at Death Valley. Clemson's offense will simply be too good for them to stop, and, while they want to say our defense will be weaker, I will only say not by much. They can hope that auburn and GT beat us before we play them but they will have already lost to FSU. Dont sleep on Syracuse either.

any Louisville fan who has really paid attention to us the last several years should admit or know that we haven't played very well in our first 2 match-ups. We played our worst game of the season offensively against y'all in 2015 and in 2014 we were forced into playing Cole '3 and out' Stoudt.

Maybe he would've turned it around had he not been injured, but he was awful while he was in. Nobody could do much against their defense that year.

Naw, it couldnt of been Louisville that made Clemson play bad two games in a row. It has to just be Clemsons fault only.

So you are saying that DW4 didn't get his finger broken in a freak accident the first quarter, leading to Cole Stoudt coming out (which btw finished with a 50 QBR...far cry from Watson)? And you are also saying that Louisville the next year wasn't playing Watson in his first full 4 qtr game back from a major ACL surgery, in their home field, and there was no way he was shaky about trusting his knee, right? It was all just "big bad scary" Louisville....

What the heck dude? Injuries are a part of football and last I checked, last year Clemson got Louisville early with an unsettled QB that later lost his job and an O-line that was freakishly green and shaking in their shoes. So neither squad was at it's best that early.
What I'm saying is that Clemson that almost lost didn't get in that situation because "Clemson just had a bad game." Clemson had a bad game because they played a good team who itself had existing warts. You sound like a SEC fan who never credits their opponent but only blame their own team for "playing bad."

"If Clemsons defense is weaker and our offense is probably it's strongest since TB left, we score more than 17. Our defense is gonna be really good this year. Teams are gonna have to score a lot of pts. to beat us imo."
Um, is this guy high? Our defense has more depth and talent than it's ever had. We have the biggest and strongest Front 7 in the history of Clemson. Our secondary is loaded with talented depth that merely needs a Camp, two weeks of practice, and a couple of games to become veteran status real quick. Then there's our offensive line which anchors our skill set players that are led by the Nation's #1 QB. SPOT THE DANG BALL ALREADY!!! GO TIGERS!

They guy rambles, jumping from one point to another in the same sentence. Clearly the work of someone who didn't finish the sixth grade.
I appreciate that they think they have a chance to win but this guy clearly overlooks our coaches' history of making our team better as one class moves on and another takes it's place. The very though that we'd drop off on defense is ridiculous. I thought football fans learn that last year.

I've seen posts on here lately about people giving Louisville credit for giving us a couple of scares over the last two seasons , and they have . I've also seen some saying that Louisville will be a tougher game than FSU on the road ...It won't be . I expect to beat them soundly , and I know that may sound uppety , but lets look at the two teams and their respective accomplishments over those same two seasons of 2014 and 2015 . They are not even in our wheelhouse folks , and I mean no disrespect to their players or their staff but they are NC State with a slightly better QB and defense . Clemson should win this game inDV by 2 scores , and I really feel like it could be a blowout . Just my gut .

I'm with you bro. I'm looking at a 41-13 type a score. Have they even recruited Top 20 classes? They might have 2 players that could start for us. That's debatable. There's nobody in the country that can put up as many points as our offense. We make any opponent punt four times a game on our schedule, and it's a W for the Tigers

essentially in his first real game back after ACL surgery in 2015. Not to mention trying to adjust after losing his go-to receiver in Mike Williams. Our offense wasn't even close to clicking at that point last year. If that's the Clemson offense they think they will face this year they are going to be in for a rude awakening.

I know they think they are going to be great but Bobby was just above average at Ark. and when he was at Lou. before they were in the weak Big East. They have lost 4 to 5 games each year since being in the ACC.

Correct. He had a good ranked season in 2004 and 2006 while in the Conference USA and Big East. and was responsible for how hood Arkansas was for several years from 2007 onward till he went back to Louisville.

I don't think any reasonable fans are taking Louisville lightly that's for sure. They had a pretty solid defense last year that should still be good this year. I am not jumping on the Lamar Jackson Bandwagon just yet however. Maybe he really has improved as a passer, but only time will tell. If he is what they think he is, it will be a great game.

They're a pretty delusional bunch. It's a community college that has beaten up on bad competition on its way to becoming a "national power" (in no one's mind but their own).
Should be a 2 TD win. FSU, Ga Tech, Auburn, and Pitt will all be tougher.

You are correct, but you are pinning your hopes on one guy. If we make the mistake of attempting to let this season ride on DW, we are going to be little better than we were when the team relied on Woody for everything.
Dont know what Louisville has done the past two years, but they knew how to frustrate our efforts as well as anyone we played.

Can I possibly add in guy #2...All American Mike Williams, who was also missing during that early matchup. So now you have 3 things last year working against Clemson that won't exist this year. 1. It was in Louisville. 2. Watson was indeed still shaky trusting his knee...he even said that during very recent interviews. 3. He was still working out not having his best WR on the field...and working with a few that were having growing paims. NOTE: Deon hadn't even come on yet at the point of that game. They were the 3rd game of the season, the first real test, and only the second game without Williams.

I will not disagree that we were handicapped, but it was still a nail biter for a second year in a row. Don't know what happened to them afterward, but they gave us a fit. I fully expect us to win again, but some on here act as though Louisville has shown us nothing and that ain't so.

Seriously though, who is guarding Jamari Staples? The best thing about practicing with a guy like Mike Williams on a weekly basis is that it prepares you for those rare specimens like Staples. He is around 6'5", 41" vertical, plays physical, but nowhere near the size of Mike. Whoever is on him in man coverage, I'll be watching! Going go make for an interesting afternoon that one.
Go tigers!
