if you look at the SEC, most of the teams who never win the conference or natty aren't the teams that hit the most homers. the teams like Vandy and Florida win because they can hit AND pitch. the exception is Tennessee last year, who had the best pitching and hit tons of homers. I mean, UGA is up there in homers yet I believe they have a 5+ era.

Georgia plays in a really small ballpark so their HR numbers are sometimes a little elevated.
