If you haven't seen some of the post game comments from KS regarding players getting paid and physicality--you should look it up. Basically "if we pay you, we expect you to push people around and hit people and we have no room for anything else" and he mentioned recrutiting certain kinds of players and the physicality part has to be major.
What I've heard, repeatedly, from our fan base is "dudes not wanting to tackle, dudes outta shape" and not to mention the lack of developmental coaching, so that goes back to the top with the HC. Love our coach, but he is at a genuine crossroads, here, heading to a long off season.

I mean besides Saban , I have not seen a better one ! His 1/2 time adjustments are elite ! His % against top 10 teams is ridiculous and he is somehow still doing it theough the nil portal mess .

Yeah. Young females on your recruiting staff really helps too. They swept that under the rug nicely.

Kirby coaches his team to hit so hard that the other team just quits...

Kind of like Danny Ford did. I think Kirby's recruiting tactics are garbage, but Dabo and Co need to take a page from Kirby on coaching up ruthless, paid assassins, not nice role models.

Has the Clemson fan base reached the point that Wins are so important that we are willing to get down into the gutter with the likes of Kirby Smart - UGA, Ryan Day - OSU, Steve Sarkisian - Texas, other programs that are willing to sale their souls and dance with the devil for wins and a CFP spot ???
I hope and pray we’re have not reached that point.🐅🐅🐅. I have always thought Clemson was a Special Place.
I understand fan’s frustration but in this new environment of play for pay college athletics I encourage some patience and support. We are turning into “What have you done for me lately” fans.
It not like we are having consistent 7 and 8 win seasons. We have not had a losing season in so long I cannot remember when it occurred. Or who the HC was ???
Back in 2017 or 2018 I posted that if Clemson’s Football program were to drop from a consistent top 10 program, it would come from outside influences and changes in the environment of college football. Influences such as NIL, RS and TP that would open the door for dirty recruiting, greedy especially if the parents sold out for 💰💰💰 too.
I never thought Clemson’s fan base would be willing to sale out for wins in football ! Again, it’s my hope that Clemson still has that strong moral culture, a culture of Character and Integrity. A program where kids wanted to play and a school that parents wanted their kids to attend before the free flow of $$$$$$$ became available !!!
This was before our gutless NCAA, many legislators, corrupt politicians and corrupt judges pushed NIL into college sports. People who have created this Wild Wild West chaos in college athletics.
I again ask fans who have been a part of Clemson for many years to give Dabo the patience and support he needs for potential future success. I am “ All In “. Go Tigers 🐅🐅

We are paying a Big Price for wins. Swinney is paid to win and bring new students, excitement and money to Clemson. Losing to Duke and Syracuse is unacceptable. He is failing and he knows it.

I would also add...CDS gets aid 11.7 a year....all that staff....not just FB coaches....literally hundreds of staff, facilities, trying to changes conferences. Winning and winning big is very important.
NONE of the decision makers are happy where we are. All these facilities werent built to b/c a NC State type of team.

The decisions made this year will say a ton about Dabo and the direction of this Clemson program. Will he fully embrace the portal will he get a bigtime OC and give them full control . Culture is big but fun is in the winning. Will Dabo ride with CV or go into the portal and get a QB to compete for the starting position we need upgrades all over this team speed and athleticism. How can Duke linebackers look better than Clemson?

Kirby is a football coach focused on football things. He is not a surrogate parent and it isn’t his job to make sure players go to class and graduate. Non-athletes somehow find a way to do what it takes to graduate without being prodded to do so and we don’t have the added resources and tutors to help us. Parents should be setting the right expectations and holding their own kids accountable when it comes to graduation.
We need a reset on who is responsible for what. Coaches need to coach and have great values and lead by example but their primary responsibility should be player development and let parents handle the character development.

sign a top 10 class prior to NIL maybe post as well. Only Florida & Texas produce more bluechips annually with Georgia or California always holding the #3 spot but after those 4 there's a steep decline in state to state production. Anyway, of those "big 4" states, none is a better setup/situation for 1 team to dominate than the state of Georgia-

Kirby's philosophy towards coaching college football is a good fit for the current environment and one of the reasons he is successful.
I definitely agree that we should be looking for a lot of Sammy Brown kinds of dudes (guys that love to hit). I'd take a solid 3 star that absolutely loves to hit over a 4 star finesse guy that avoids contact.
Right now my biggest concern is that a significant part of the Clemson "way" for roster management is at odds with the reality of the professionalization of college sports. In the past - Dabo's policy of "till graduation do we part" to anyone that accepted a Clemson offer was the correct way of doing things when the player's only compensation for playing was a scholarship/free college education. However, IMO that education guarantee went out the window when the college-player agreement shifted from a free education being the foundation to that of direct payments for signing/retention.
I have my doubts that Dabo will change from his "till graduation do we part" philosophy because it would require him to admit that college football is no longer about developing men and getting an education. Keeping under-performing guys on our roster due to some "till graduation do we part" loyalty will be an anchor that will be hard to overcome in the current environment as most other schools with whom we are competing will have no such self imposed talent limit.
When most big league football players are getting compensated to the tune of 6 or even 7 figures a year it is no longer about a school's commitment to providing that player with an education and degree. With direct payment comes performance expectations. If a player is not meeting those performance expectations they need to be shown the door (portal) to make room for someone who will. Besides, with the money these young men are making - after one or two years they can pay for their own education if they are cut from the roster and the whole football thing isn't working out for them.
