It was a state attorney who over the past couple of years has repeatedly refused to obey the law she swore to uphold.
Not getting into a political battle here. Just correcting a slight error in the post.

Fl Gov. DeSantis has been at war w/Disney for the past year. He needs the headlines showing he is still all about supporting Floridians. And he just dismissed the FL Attorney Gen. for being "soft" on crime. This may be a chance for him to grab the spotlight and tell FSU if they want to leave the ACC he will give Disney/ESPN the middle finger and FSU won't have to pay the ACC anything. If and when they sue FSU, Gov. Desantis has the new attorney General declare sovereign immunity and FSU rides off into the sunset.

DeSantis removed the Orlando-area state attorney, Worrell, for dereliction of duty. She had a pattern of refusing to enforce state law to such an extent that she was effectively nullifying the law.
The Florida Attorney General is Ashley Moody and she's good.

immunity if the contract POP predates the termination of Disney's footprint in FL. I think too it would depend on the state of litigation jurisdiction (not FL) Contractually agreed upon when executed.

The SC legislature could invoke sovereign immunity for Clemson if it left the ACC and was sued by anyone. Lots of Clemson grads in the SC legislature.
