Just Looking at Joe Burrow's Passing Stats

JB has some dang impressive stats. On 1st and 2nd down his completion percentage is about 79% and 81% respectively. He is also 2 for 2 on 4th down passes. However, 2 things stuck out to me.
On 3rd down with 3 yards + to get, his completion percentage is 10% + lower than his overall average.
The other stat that caught my eye was that inside their own 20, his completion percentage is also lower by the same numbers.
On third and long or backed up he is a good QB but not GOAT quality.
Open up the link and go to "splits" to see all the down and distance info.

Good post.
We need to slow them on 1st and 2nd downs...3rd and long is key. He needs to be uncomfortable. Force him to throw under pressure/scramble. Limit the big plays.
Watching them slap OU around, it’s obvious that’s easier said than done. Hope Coach V has a great plan...tosu had pretty good success on 1st and 2nd so it’s a concern.

We would've beaten OU in the same manner . When you play a good team with no defense you expect to do that with a team like they or we have . However , we have a top flight defense and LSU doesn't . That's big .

Against Okla., Ark., Miss., Miss St., Utah St., Vandy., North Western ST., and Georgia Southern, Burrow threw 37 touch downs, or 4.625 per game.
Against the more challenging defenses, U.Ga., TA&M., Ala., Aub., Fla., Tex., he threw 18, or 3 per game. Clemson's defense is better than any of these. Draw your own conclusions.

Just like Fields and Chase had for Ohio State.
