Even though he was redshirted last year, the coaches played him a good bit in the natty. That tells me that they trust him a lot and bodes well for him next year. I think he will surprise quit a few folks with his play next year.

Really high on this kid. Seems to have a great motor reminds me of Boulware with how he plays.

Remember when people wanted Skalski to focus more on kicking because we didn't need him at LB and he played soccer in high school so he would be really good on kick offs?

I said this same thing in a thread a few weeks ago. Kid is a beast. No one on this thread will be surprised, but you are right, lots of fans will be. Earmark this thread cuz a bunch of you’s Will he saying I told you so when some goob shows up talking about, “who’s this Skalski kid????”

Bringing in 5 very good LBs in this next class. Lots of competition to sort through in the spring and fall. I only wish Mullens and Lamar had of stayed. In any case, it's going to be a fun competition to watch.

two years instead of one. Venables loves him and trusts him. They could play him in the 4 biggest games this year and have him until 2020. That gives Bentley, Maguire, Patterson and Venables time to mature.
Its was really a great plan along with the KJ Henry red shirt. With KJ it might not get us another year, but he needed the training time more than he needed the little bit of field time he could have earned.

James broke both feet last summer, and the 4 game redshirt rule is great for him. After his freshman year, an assistant coach said that he would be better than Boulware; not as chippy, but has more natural talent. He will be a star the next two years.
