My feeling is, this team is playing like a top 15 team but not a top 5 team. Not sure they are top 8 and Omaha bound but maybe they can turn up the bats? Batting is below avg for elite teams.

I have not, still not quite ready. Mine was with me 24/7, went to work, fishing hunting, vacations, you name it, she was with me. So when Im ready to get invested in that commitment, I will get another one. She is still highly missed and I dont wish your situation on anyone. Its hard to watch your loyal friend go down health wise.

based on what? 14th in hitting in ACC, 9th in ERA, gave up 56 runs in last 2 series, 21 hits yesterday, 20 runs? none of these facts say they are a very good team.

Khalil Greene, Michael Johnson, and Jeff Baker in the lineup as well. We just don’t have the power injected in this lineup. But I’ll give them credit, they’ve done pretty well this year without it. But in terms of Omaha, we couldn’t get it done with aforementioned studs in the lineup either. It’s real hard to be great in baseball.

Capable yes… in the end you just got to be hot. NC State a few years back caught lightning in a bottle and had to go home with COVID but they were playing fantastic at the right time. Just need to go into it with a favorable seed and that is definitely the concern as of today. Hoping we did not peak to early.

Desperately need Moehler to come back healthy, Bell to take another step in 2026, and Knaak to continue to be the stud that we've seen him be. That would be a very formidable rotation in 2026. Priest and Gaffney were signed to be those middle of the lineup mashers, and I'm still fairly confident we will see them both take another step forward next year, but they need to stop striking out so dang much and get their average up above the .260-.270 range.
Regardless, you're right... Whether that 2026 weekend starter and middle of the lineup power bat are on the roster right now remains to be seen, but if they're not they've got to open up the NIL pockets and go find them.

We're a good team, not a great team IMHO. I think we have a few capable bats and some solid arms but the last 3 weeks or so we haven't been able to have both of them going at the same time on the same day.
That being said, this team is totally capable of making some noise in the postseason, maybe even making an Omaha run. If you get the rotation clicking again, get the bats fired up... these guys have beaten legitimate teams many times this year and we were ranked in the top 5 for a number of weeks for a reason... This team also could go 0-2 in a Regional and be going home early too, so I honestly have no clue what to expect.

I think you are spot on. You never quite sure what you will get week from week or even game by game. They have shown they are capable of beating really good teams. That Georgia game is a prime example. It seems hard for them to get a great pitching performance & great offensive game going together.
