Is Biden being patriotic.................

As President Trump denounced the violence in the Capitol and called for peace and order, Joe Biden had a different idea: Attacking President Trump. And pinning the racism tag on the Capitol cops.
In a posturing speech attempting to look enraged and furious, Biden told a slew of lies -- accusing President Trump of starting the riots, painting the Washington D.C. cops as racist, and throwing in the discredited canard about Trump claiming white supremacists at Charlottesville were "fine people." .
He also suggested Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz were Nazis (The Big Lie)!
Thanks for the unifying speech, Biden, and trying to instill vengeance in the left, who are already busy burning and looting.
A true leader (listen up Joe) should, especially early on, show that he has the best interests of Dems and Pubs in his heart. He failed, miserably. Vengeance and hyperbolic political cheap shots will only further divide the country and put us all in danger. Sad that Joe can't grasp that.

Because everyone knew that Trump was a huge factor as to why it happened. Ironically, Trump now says he wish he never filmed the video and regrets it. He was loving it when it happened. So the answer is yes, Biden was being patriotic.

There is no defending Trump's actions post election

as far as I'm concerned, as his whole "rigged election" is dispicable and his "denouncing the violence" is laughable. Having said that, Biden's (and dems) pleas for unity are equally as laughable and insulting.

Smiling,
I like to think that the Dems were prepared to take a path of some reconciliation and unity but the spectacle that happened this week threatened the nation - and them personally. They want to politically punish the Rep politicians who refused to heed numerous warnings over the past four years - the warnings that said that the President's divisive words had dire consequences - which we have now seen.
President was a vindictive, petty, outrageous President. It seems as though, he may now be getting some of his own medicine. Right now Dems are dropping the political hammer on Trump and his enablers and it is hard to chastise them for repaying ### for tat.
I think some moderation should be applied to this situation,. but it is hard to be too adamant about it given Trump's action for the last four years.
After these next two weeks are played out, I hope to see the Dems display a greater willingness to reasonably consider Republican leaders and Republican citizens and their concerns. I may be wrong. They may take the power of controlling the three houses of power and lord it over the Reps the way that the Reps to them did earlier. We will have to wait and see.

Dems have been every bit as petty and vindictive as Trump over the last 4 years. The failure to recognize that is part of the problem, and one reason I expect it to continue. Neither side cares about the concerns of the people that voted for the other side (half of America). Trump failed on a massive level in this regard. Trump/pubs failed to acknowledge or address the concerns of Black America following the George Floyd killing. It was actually a great opportunity for Trump politically, and a huge oppoprtunity for our country to make a leap forward. Now, hear me out ... not to compare 200 years of oppression and racism to the 2020 election, but we have nearly half of the country that has lost some faith in our election process, and Biden and the Dems need to address that. You'll never, ever please all of the people, but when the country is so divided, our leaders cannot continue to look at polls and decide who they can get away with ignoring and who they need to placate. They need to acknowledge and address the concerns of voters on all sides. That's how you unify. You don't ignore them or tell them to shut up.

I like your objectivity and analytical mind (good for you).....however, the extreme left on P & R may well come after you. They don't like having their mindset/ narrative disrupted by a VOICE reason.

Trump leading a riot that day changed things for most of America. Biden was dead on. That was all on Trump and his fellow terrorists and what they did. What was Biden supposed to say?

T3Tiger: Unfortunately, Joe Biden is often incredibly naive. The main reason that people want TheRump out NOW is that TheRump is calling for more people, more weapons, and more destruction on January 19/20, in DC and other locations. (That's why he was permanently banned from Twitter and Facebook.)
TheRump is not close to being done with his sedition -- if he leaves the presidency he's going to jail, so what's a few more indictments for his attempt at trying to declare martial law and remain in the Whitehouse. (He's insane.) Schumer, Pelosi, Murkowski, Sasse, Graham, and many others see the endless possibilities of dangerous and seditious acts he can do in 10 days. Biden should see that, too. The sooner Pence uses the 25th amendment, the better.

I realize that for is for Hopper, but here is my opinion anyway. Those nutcases have already gone off of the deep end no matter what happens to Trump. Trump has already poisoned them. They are hopeless.

Careful there, facts, logic and common sense elude these TDS terminally stricken lefties!!
Their approach is, sadly: hate, violence, vulgarity and malignant vengeance. Time to tear the country apart and ignore 75 million people. A selfish, surefire formula for destroying America. They will pay dearly in 2022 and 2024, especially with Joementia and Spread Eagle Kumala in charge.
And let's not forget how inspired loyal Trump followers will be to install true conservatives in the upcoming elections. The chances of the Dems trying to shove socialism down our throats successfully is ZERO. Even many Dems will sour on that one.
