Right there in Dabo's hip pocket on a lot of recruiting photos. I guess he is ain't going no where anytime soon. Guess joey batson will still be here also with those same old dinosaur training techniques. Oh well, still very excited to get Tom Allen. Go Tigers!

Its HILARIOUS the amount of people on here that believe just replacing Wes will fix all of our problems

We were terrible this season in every single aspect of the game. Offense, defense, special teams, strength and conditioning were all poor and we fired ONE PERSON

I believe JB is well respected by the players and one would think he will be afforded the opportunity to leave under his own terms.

Special Teams is the biggest joke and if changes are not made there then there are some definite issues imo.

I'm guessing that coach Allen takes over special teams coordination.

Offense was 11th in the country and other than the personnel related

blocked kicks, special teams have done fine. Been great on FGs otherwise, kickoffs have routinely been in the end zone, and punt and kickoff coverage and returns have been fine.

Defense is another story, one that one solid DC can fix.

Our punter is average at best most years. Allowed more block kicks this season than I can remember the whole time Dabo has been here. Kickoffs are fine. When was the last time we blocked a punt? We are horrible at special teams imo.

The part that makes it worse is we get field goals blocked and the issue lingered. Wouldn’t you think that issue would have been fixed after the FSU game. It was embarrassing. I’m thinking one of you football gurus on here would have fixed that by the Tuesday after FSU.

This is the first year we saw the kick blocks, but it was fixed when

Woods got back in his kick team position.

It’s not like we’ve been seeing our kicks blocked for years. It was new issue this year, due to personnel. It was fixed. That’s not a reason to overhaul special teams coaching.

How often do you see blocked punts, anywhere? I venture to guess there are numerous programs who don’t have blocked punts. That’s not a reason to overhaul special teams coaching.

Swanson had some bad kicks. He’s also been great at pinning people inside the 20. Regardless, he’s gone now and hopefully we have someone who can average better. But again, this was personnel and not coaching related.

Kickoffs almost always go for a touchback. Zero issues there.

Kickoff and punt returns - meh, average but then again there’s been nothing there that screams coaching change.

So all in all, I don’t see anything that’s been a lingering issue that demands coaching changes.

Sorry - but if 5* DT is required for FG blocking unit to be effective - - -

- - - then the blocking scheme itself is horrendous.

Or maybe it is that 95% of the other college FB teams also have 5* DTs to make their FG blocking unit competent.

Its been the same kick team coaching for years.

Do you think we just forgot how to coach the position that was letting dudes through, or do you think it was the dude playing the position? Have you seen this before in Dabo’s tenure? It hasn’t been an issue, ever. Again, this was a brand new thing, and yes, it was fixed with personnel. So you suggest overhauling special teams coaching because of a brand new issue that was fixed during the year?

In all honesty high spiraling (or low tumbling) 30 yard punts are not all that hard to cover.

You don't end up near the bottom of the FBS in special teams efficiency without having multiple issues. Punting was atrocious, and our punt block/return unit generally grades poorly because we never block kicks and we also don't do well on returns.

Offense ran up big numbers against weak teams but struggled against teams with a pulse, especially in the 2nd half.

Against the 22nd ranked SOS, we were #11 on the country. And by the way, every single team in America runs up their numbers against lesser opponents. It’s only logical that offense does less against the better teams. And too, we had more passing yards than any other team against Texas. We had 3 passing TDs while they gave up 4 all year coming into the game. Texas is #3 in total defense, so that kind of throws a monkey wrench in your elementary opinion.

The Safety play in 2024 was definitely Sub-Par!!! Sickens had a good year, but did struggle occasionally with Tackling! Barnes regressed this Year, often out of Position, taking Poor Angles and Crappy Tackling Technique!

Not hoping for him to be fired I just want him to improve. He's not good. Safeties are constantly out of position and a lot of misreads. Hopefully Allen can help him to improve.

I hope Allan has a lot of say so in the linebackers. Wes’s linebackers did not seem to improve and although I like Boulware he has no coaching experience.

Dinosaur training techniques? Joey is one of the best to ever do his job, right there with the father of his profession, Boyd Eppley. I’ll take his ground-based, power principles over any of the clowns that are invading the strength and conditioning profession now.

I do think his heart issues a few years ago have hampered how hands-on he can be, along with how intense he can be.
