at Key positions because we already have a roster loaded with 4 and 5-star underclassmen, who by all accounts, have panned out.. I guess this is a great problem to have, because a bird in your hand is better than two in the Bush.

We still might lose our entire starting Dline though. We could use help at LB too. The secondary will lose a couple guys.

The coaches have already said Adams will see the field this year. Moore is legit, Wesco should have been a 5 star. We will see with Alexander, but he led in tackles during the spring game. Although I will not put much weight on that until; he steps on the fields in the fall and shows us what he can do. His measurables certainly hold up to the hype.

i would immediacy bench Capehart for Amare
i was also in Mercedes Benz stadium right behind the Clemson offense yelling they are playing the wrong WRs
i know those guys are good. we just don't have many 5 stars anymore . be wise they don't want to play at Clemsonfor reasons beyond NIL

disagree wholeheartedly, but gave you a point for creativity. Let the better player win the job in August. Woodaz has far exceeded expectations, never out of position, and rarely misses a tackle.. Alexander is the better athlete for sure.

Mafah got a 1000+ yards last year behind a banged up oline, a shoulder he separated against Ncstate i game 3, and nagging hamstring injuries. Certainly you're not going to judge him on one play when our Oline was not prepared for that game.

... also hoping Mafah makes it in the NFL . he was robbed of more playing time in his first years . he was the better RB

30 five star recruits (totally subjective rankings) to split amongst 134 programs. Not good odds for any team. Not everyone performs up to expectations. So what’s a five star ranking worth? Not as much as you’re led to believe. Player development is far more important than a third-party ranking service. Individual identification of talent is also far more important than a third-party ranking service. The Clemson coaching staff has proven that over many years.

I look at offers, and as such the Oline we are building is gonna be sick. DE is the only concern the past couple of classes; there is no one to replace parkler's production, not even close. Hopefully, we can also secure another running back with some size for next year.

The problem with that assessment is that we are losing guys to programs that will have just as much talent returning next year as we are. We may very well lose our entire starting defensive line after this season so its hard to believe someone like BPW didn't come here because he figured he'd somehow get more playing time at TAM. Sure we are pretty deep in some areas but places like DE or LB aren't among them at least not compared to any other elite program.

Jae Lamar is the other most recent one also. We literally don't have a proven college RB on our entire team and he decided to go to a school that may very well bring in a 5 star RB in the same class as him to go along with the other guys on their roster. Hard to blame that one on a lack of playing time options. When Atkinson ends up going elsewhere you'll be able to use him as well. We will have one proven college LB on the roster after this season so him not coming here won't be because of playing time.

Nah. Not buying it. We're not recruiting like we did last decade. We were bringing in classes like AtM class this year. We've steadily gone down. Our blue chip ratio has gone down. It's gone down further than the numbers. The 4 stars aren't as high as we've had.
The anomaly is this class is the best oline we've brought in. If it weren't for the oline recruits, our class rating is worse than uscjr. That stings.
Is it money? Probably some. But we're not even offering the top guys like we used to. We can certainly have a civil debate as to why. We have money, or so it's told. We may not lead with money, but when guys visit, they know what we have in place.
It's way more complex than just saying we're losing guys because of money. I don't discount Nike may be on to something.

We are now leading more with $$, which is a huge reason why we are recruiting better lately. But we don’t play in a marquee conference nor are we playing in as many big time games like we used to.
While we may be proud of our ACC championships, potential recruits see us losing to SEC teams and struggling against the ranked teams on our schedule, and that is not helping our cause when we are up against Georgia, Ohio State, etc. in a recruiting battle.
Hopefully this year we will take another step forward and show recruits that Clemson can provide them with plenty of big games and opportunities for exposure.

Nike is full of crap, we had one of the youngest teams in the country in 2023.
We were regularly starting freshman and we recorded more snaps for freshman than any other P5 team in the country and it wasn’t close.
Peter Woods, TJ Parker, Khalil Barnes, Tyler Brown were all impact starters and plenty others got starts or were rotated in for depth.

The 2018 Clemson roster had 14 players that were Rivals 5 stars. The 2025 roster has 5 players that were Rivals 5 stars. Big disparity in talent roster wise.

Good point Balm. Players who think they have the talent to make the league down the line will not sit on the bench because there are too many places to go.
