Hypothetically if a team

Went 6-6 from the sec but 3 of those 6 wins were against a #1, 2, and 3 should they been in playoff over a team that went 10-2 with no wins against a top 25 teams but beat everybody handily. That’s what the sec wants to do. If it’s about who you beat and not how many wins you have then that 6-6 team should be in over that 10-2 team. Extreme example but that’s sec logic.

Good take, Jr. That is exactly what ESECPN and the SEC are saying!! As usual, they are totally biased in their view and probably wrong!

Where they’ll wind up going with it is any sec team with a 500 or better record will automatically qualify. Then add notre dame and that’s your playoff.

That 6-6 team needs to have a helluva story. Something like top QB and RB were out first six games due to a parasitic infection attained while doing a mission trip in late June. Team went 0-6 and then once the stars retuned then went 6-0 beating those top three teams by an average of 27.9 points.

Whereas the 10-2 team lost badly to ranked opponents while at full strength and had quite a few wins by margin of seven or less.

If down to the final at large between those teams - I’m gong to side with the SEC I think.

Also, the CFP committee made the right decision last year by leaving FSU out of the four team invitational post-season made for tv tournament.

This is why there needs to be some sort of criteria that qualifies a school for the playoff. Perhaps, no more than 2 losses and played in a conference championship. Any school that hasn't played in a conference championship, shouldn't be ranked higher than 1 that has. There isn't any actual leadership in college football and it shows.

So if for some reason the SEC invited Clemson to join and for some stupid reason they did, would you be an all in pumper? Football is football and you have to win against the teams you play wherever they come from and that hasn't changed in 125 years.

If you are asking me, would I be a SEC fanboy, the answer is a Hard NO! I don't cheer for a conference, I cheer for Clemson. I wish the worst for every conference opponent regardless of affiliation.

I WANT Clemson in the SEC for the most obvious of reasons: our recruiting will improve markedly. We have lost many recruits because we AREN’T in the SEC and that is one of the points that opposing SEC teams use against us.
