How much money does Basketball need?

Some people think that the Basketball program is under funded. How much money would it take to be a top 25 program? Where does the money need to be spent? How many teams in the tournament spend more on basketball than Clemson? I'm just trying to figure out if lack of funds is the problem.

They don’t need anything more than they have. We just renovated LJC about 6 years ago.
Purnell obviously had much less when he was the coach even before the year of 2010 when we had much less revenue all around (football). We never did anything absolutely crazy, but our teams were so obviously better than all of Brad’s teams. Just better players most of the time.
It’s all to blame everything else except Brownell, who is the problem. I can’t believe the excuses people make for this guy. Yes he’s a good guy, and has done a couple of good things here, but after 14 years you know what you’ll get in the future.
Brad does not have the place nor authority to demand more help financially. He has not accomplished enough to deserve more financial backup than he’s already gotten (LJC Renmovation). The only coaches that may ask for financial backup in my mind at the moment are Dabo and Rittman.
Neff is making some questionable decisions, and Brad needs to go. I think if Radakovich was still here he would’ve fired Brad. But Brad is complaining to the first year AD and Neff needs to take some action and responsibility for Clemson’s fans. They are extremely unhappy.

by tip off, if you haven't scanned your ticket upon entering Littlejohn, those seats should be filled with students or whoever else wants to sit in them. We have technology to make this possible. It makes zero sense for that to continue.

Football and Softball investments are paying off. Doesn't look like the LJ investment is paying off.

newnan® but our family wrote off Clemson Basketball a decade ago due to Coach Brownell and the style & level of play of his teams.

Idk but I honestly think we are overspending on basketball.
I get what JK and the JK-like minded are saying with funding in basketball but it's also a dumb argument to believe that dumping money into something is going to suddenly make you better. That just doesn't logically make sense because if that was true, there is a lot of failing football and basketball brands out there with that exact problem of overfunding for awful results (Texas A&M, Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators just for football examples. I can keep listing for a while here). Where we stand financially in funding of our program, we are still underperforming. So I don't see throwing more money at it as a solution. Besides, money comes from generating success, that's just how it always has been for any school and any sport. The only real solution is getting a new coach and staff that actually want to push this program to its limits.

Enough to drag Coach K out of retirement and buy the 8 five stars he needs.
