How is this gameday Clemson flag a constant?

Does an alumni pay for someone in the area to fly it high, send flags etc? Is it a couple traveling to every game day as a bucket list kind of thing? Inquiring minds want to know...

My guess would be that they find a Clemson alum in the area and sends the flag somehow. But hey, if they've got the money to travel to every gameday, more power to em.

Clemson Alumni Assiciation identifies a volunteer and sends the flags to them. Takes effort from the local alumni and the association. That's the first thing I look for when Gameday comes on. There is one school with a longer continuous appearance record than Clemson and I think it's Washington, but not sure.

I'm pretty sure you're right. I've seen that ole crimson flag at multiple game days for almost three years at least.

Washington states flag has been at like 190 consecutive gamedays. They were talking about it a few weeks ago.

It was a tradition started to encourage Game Day to come to Pullman, WA and it shall fly until they get Game Day.

It's a new set of flags each week. I've had the pleasure of flying them for a couple of gamedays since 2013. I believe WaSt's are mailed from site to site.

For Clemson, there is a volunteer/selection process that starts when it is announced each week. They do it w/ an email from the alumni association. They then send an alumni and paw flag to the volunteer free of charge that they can keep with the stipulation that the flag pole be provided by the volunteer.
