Horrific looking car crash on 76 into Clemson today

Past tri county tech and on the way into Clemson at that light near the former produce stand.
One of the worst ones I have ever seen in the Clemson area. A completely overturned destroyed jeep in the median and two other very badly damaged cars strewn to the other side. Lots of police and ambulances.

Dang I hate to hear that. I swear first thing that comes to my mind when I see a wreck after I pray that everyone is ok is who was on their phone. Just the reality of what we are having to deal with now on our highways

So true. Passed a car last night around 9pm in the darkness, no head lights on but you could see the light from their phone in the air. Unbelievable that someone is so distracted by their phone they don't even know their headlights aren't on at night.

Highway 61, just about where Magnolia Place is located, between Charleston and Summerville. This was way back sometime between 1977-82, as that was the five year stretch I lived in the Summerville / Charleston area.
An old Nova had crashed head on into one of those 100+ year old Oak trees. The tree suffered very little damage. EMT's had two bodies already covered in sheets on the side of the road, and there was a third guy screaming his lungs out, still trapped in the car. But, not for long. He was pinned because the wreck had sheared both of his feet off. He died before they could extricate him from the wreckage.
Like I said, this was at least 30 years ago, but some things stay with you for a lifetime.

Yea stuff like that messes me up. Can’t hardly stand to look at a wreck. Thought of someone in pain kills me.

When I've seen that someone died in an accident, it haunts me that they're family members are about to get the worst news of their life. I start praying for them at once, and I'm feeling awful for people I don't even know, and it takes days for me to get over it....

Hope they don’t draft you and send you to the Ukrainian and Russian border. I think we’re about to see a lot of wreckage and people in pain there.

I seen a friend on Facebook post her daughter was in a serious accident up that way. She drives a silver suv. Maybe a Jeep Cherokee. But she said she is in the hospital but should be ok.

Those accidents never leave you. I still remember one’s that I worked back in the late 70’s just like it was yesterday. Then all of the other serious incidents throughout the years. At times I wish I had never got into law enforcement. All you can do is pray for all those involved and their families. ????????????????????????
