They have made us cheer. They have made us cry.
We have high-fived strangers. We have hugged people we have known for only three hours. At times, we have thrown things in frustration. At times, we have lost our voices screaming for joy. We have lived through great times, good times, and (occasionally) bad times. But, mostly it has one Amazing Journey!
For 122 glorious seasons, the Clemson Tigers have laid it all on the line for our joy!

North Carolina Highway 222 is a two lane rural highway that runs 57.8 miles through mostly farmland from Emit, through Kenly, Fremont, Eureka, Stantonsburg, Saratoga, Fountain, and Falkland, to Belvoir near Greenville, NC.
About 4 or 5 miles on up Hwy 133 from Maws Grocery is the little town of Six Mile. The last census, Six Mile had a population of about 700. It is the epitomy of small town living. Most people are passing through on the way to Keowee, Pickens, Highway 11 or Mayberry. Former Clemson DT Scott Pagano's family had an ice cream shop on Main St (Hwy 133), but they apparently sold if it is called The Scoop. I need to make a point to check it out next time passing through.

Emperor Elagabalus was assassinated, along with his mother, Julia Soaemias, by the Praetorian Guard during a revolt. Their mutilated bodies were dragged through the streets of Rome before being thrown into the Tiber.
The Romans didn't mess around when they didn't like you.
I discovered a somewhat disturbing tidbit while researching 222. Back in 2015, we had been a country for 239 years. For 222 of those years, we had been at war with SOMEBODY. At the time, no President had ever left office with the country completely at peace, everywhere in the world. The site actually had them all listed by year, you can check it out if that floats your boat. But, watch out it doesn't get sunk by whoever we were at war with at the time.
Room 222 was a comedy/drama series that aired from 1969 thru 1974. It starred Lloyd Haynes, Denise Nicholas, Michael Constantine (in one of the first of MANY TV roles for him), and Karen Valentine, who became a major star as a result of her role as student teacher Alice Johnson.
222 years ago (WRONG, Edit, it was really 230 years ago, internet was squirrely), Jean Pierre Blanchard made the first balloon flight in America. The City of Philadelphia allowed him to use the yard of the Walnut Street Prison, on the southeast corner of 6th and Walnut Streets. Temperatures on the appointed day were relatively mild for that time of year. Despite the cloudy skies, he began filling the balloon with hydrogen, or “inflammable air”.
President George Washington was there but could not speak French. Despite his time in England, Blanchard did not speak English. To assist him when he landed, President Washington handed him a “passport” that contained the request that anyone reading the document “oppose no hindrance or molestation to the said Mr. Blanchard”.
Blanchard loaded his balloon with some food, wine, and weather instruments, and, following a cannon shot (!) to indicate the start of the flight, cast off ropes and took off. He flew over the Delaware River to the New Jersey side, and decided to land there. After three aborted attempts due to trees obstructing his landing site, he touched down by letting the hydrogen gas out of the balloon via an exhaust valve. Jean Blanchard landed in Deptford Township, New Jersey, at 10:56 AM. He’d travelled about fifteen miles.

as a young lad in the early 70s, good show. Dealt with a lot of the issues of that time. Came on right before Odd Couple. I would probably have liked having a teacher like Alice Johnson (Karen Valentine). She seemed like a fine teacher.
