Or how the entire offense looked better? Plays called we never saw called... WR catching balls and running routes...

And defense. When you know your coaches are serious about winning, it changes everything. Last week, not so much.

Indeed our defense played better in some aspects and worse in others than it did against S.Carolina.
We stoned S.Carolina for much of the game, but then gave up BIG plays to S.Carolina on 3rd and 4th down.
After one of those BIG play give-ups vs. S.Carolina, our defense rose up and got the pik in the end zone.
On the other two BIG play give-ups, S.Carolina got TDs.
Without those two big play give-up-TDs, we win the game handily against S.Carolina ... despite our FOUR turnovers.
Red Zone defense: We were better against UNC than we were against S.Carolina. UNC got one red zone TD; S.Carolina got three red zone TDs (with one being the result of a 1st and 2 after one of our big play busts).
UNC moved the ball much better all night than did S.Carolina. But we didn't have the number of busts against UNC as we did against S.Carolina.

Turner, Williams, and others still had some drops. We had the QB to overcome them, instead of the calamitous events that directly resulted in losses to inferior teams…because…you know…sacred cow

Our WRs didn't magically become better, nor was our passing game success purely the outcome of Cade's great play.
UNC's defense (especially their DBs) have been awful all year.
S.Carolina actually has very good DBs; that is a big part of the reason why our WRs couldn't get open vs. S.Carolina.

Don’t make excuses for DJs terrible play. We have played allot of bad defenses this year and the offense was consistently inconsistent and bad at times.

We played some good defenses (NC State and FSU) and won those games.
We played W.Forest which has a putrid defense but we were under the gun to score big time to win.
DJU's play for his 2 series tonight was horrible. But to suggest that DJU's play was terrible all year is just wrong.

This is difficult for you. This being wrong thing. The Coot defense is trash. We lost because of DJ and won tonight because of the better QB played. Try admitting you were wrong and just defended DJ because the coaches did.

Outside of the Wake 2022 game, Cade threw for more yards tonight than DJ has in any game in 2021 and 2022. His highest yardage total in 24 of 25 games was in 2021 with 241 yards against UCONN. To say he’s even been decent in a game since 2020 is almost a complete lie

Well call him up and help him pack. The rest of us will happily move forward with Cade! Dropped passes and incorrect route running at this level is because of a lack of focus. When you insert a qb that everyone suddenly believes in, it makes you play fast. If you have ever coached a team the words "don't think just do" sum it up. With Cade the Tiger offense "just do"!

We lost to one inferior team this year.
N.Dame is better than us (they dominated us on both lines of scrimmage, which more than made up for their mediocre skill players).

Ah ha, so his roll to the left and toss up a 10 yard marshmellow (for the ND pik) was just to fool N.Dame into being complacent.
Cade's presence against N.Dame would have gotten our O-Line and D-Line to be 'lifted up' in inspiration and then stone N.Dame.
I understand it all now.

What is wrong with you? You would rather suck and lose to the chickens and heels with Stinko than win with the far far superior QB? Your arguing like you have picked a side. The wrong one.

DJ isn’t even a decent runner, which is why TP was more effective last year even though he couldn’t throw a forward pass…

I agree partially, but I’ll ask this…if we had a reality TV show where the contestant was supposed to be the QB and MVP of the game, how would you game plan?

Not so fast. If Cade would have started in the second quarter at ND, I’m not so sure he wouldn’t have overcome his mistake. The whole team is more inspired when he comes in. Heck, even Nagata caught passes and gave effort. The chemistry is definitely different with Cade playing and with him in the lineup we played a lot faster, even when we w e r e s l o w I n g things down. Good win for the Tigers. Just wish Cade was handled differently this year and we might be playing for the NC with an actual chance to win it.

O line suddenly looked like CFP material too. I mean UNC's defense is awful, but so was USC's.

S.Carolina's D-Line (despite the presence of 2 x 5* D-Linemen) is poor. Their LBs are average. Their DB's are really good (as much as I hate to admit it).
UNC's got a bad overall defense, but especially their hot-trash DB's are their worst unit.
Did you see how many times their DB's turned the wrong way at the wrong time? Their fundamentals are terrible.
Dre Bly is UNC's DB coach. He's a fine recruiter (OK, really good recruiter), but he's clearly a terrible coach.
UNC will finish the year at 9-5 after starting it at 9-1. Their terrible DBs will be the biggest part of their 4 game season-ending losing streak.

Offense looked like it had an identity and consistent momentum tonight, finally. Hope we can build off this win and improve for the big time bowl game.

…high velocity, tight spirals. It was the same with TL16.
The velocity part of it, INCREASES a WR’s focus, like the difference between baseball infielders catching warmup throws at the start of each inning versus the catcher’s focus and attention when a batter is up to bat.
As a result, the WR’s are catching the ball better.
