FSU team is what we should look like

I really like our head coach & I think we are slowly improving. However, this FSU team is a very complete team with the exception of their bullpen. Jarrett first year at FSU they were dead last in the ACC & didn’t even make the postseason. They very next year they are in the CWS & are one of the last 4 teams left. They definitely look like a CWS team again. If FSU can turn a bad team into a power house again do quickly Clemson should be able to as well. It just really frustrating watching this FSU team just bash the ball & we struggle like we do on offense. The only answer is recruiting & transfer portal I guess.

FSU is the best team for sure in the ACC—they should be Omaha bound

Need to consistently have classes that rank in the Top 5 and also be able to get the commits that always go pro,get them to come to college instead

Hitting is the part that is missing the most. BA has been really low all season and I was amazed early on by just how many games they were winning. I know people pick on pitching and it has not been good at times but the bullpen has been solid and able to win games the offense couldn't. You can't have 7-8 hitters below 300 and expect to go to Omaha. Now maybe they turn it around but I don't see this team getting past a Super. As far as the comparison to FSU.. Clemson had a lot further to travel in terms of getting back to par. Monty and Andrew See destroyed this team and it was a ground zero rebuild. FSU did not have to do that and it shows. FSU was similar to the team Monty inherited from Jack. Eric has done well for what he started with.. he will get there, but this is not the year unless they get hot in a way not seen all year.

The problem is we have an inconsistent pen after RG and LM, and one legitimate weekend starter, which, by default, also means we're lacking a legitimate midweek starter.

1-9. BA isn't good but the OBP is. The hitting isn't great, but it's enough to win games. Our weekend starters behind Knaak haven't been good.

That's why we won as much earlier. I've said since March, this team was weak sauce. We wouldn't have scored 5 runs today if FSU’s pitching didn't walk or hbp. That's what we feasted on. Nc state didn't give up freebies. Neither did coastal. Good teams won't. We've had two games against bad competition where we scored with hits. Our BA and obp against the league is even worse.

19 games with 5 runs or less. Fla State has 12. There is a difference. If anything that is a credit to the pitching that we were able to win those games.

You are not wrong that we must recruit better but you also have to understand that we are not the baseball power that Florida State is. FSU has 31 kids from Florida on their roster and as big as the state is, I cannot even imagine how many players and prospects there are in Florida each year.
