But try to see yourself as lucky. Many people have the exact opposite problem where they don't hear dad 17 times in 45 years. Think about how that would feel.

Don't box the kid in

every kid doesn't have a disease or syndrome because they act a little wacky. Everyone has a unique personality, none of them wrong or right. If they aren't lighting kitties on fire or breaking other kids' knees on the playground, they will probably be OK. Think about the weirdos you grew up with and went to school with - 95% of them probably turned out just fine.
Don't box the kid in with some overeducated quack telling them they have Asburgers or ADHD or Autism or neurodivergentism or one of the other 100 21st-century diagnoses. "Doctors" these days can slap some neurosis on every person born and prescribe some terrible drug that peobably impacts them badly for rest of their lives. This is societal horror.

and my statement was absolutely not. Until it starts affecting his school work, we aren't talking doctors or medication.
But having to redirect him LITERALLY every 3 seconds while doing E-learning is a chore.
He has an amazing teacher and I'm thankful for her every day.

much more stringent evaluation process for ADHD so we are waiting for results from that evaluation. In SC they just wanted Paperwork from parents and teachers. Youngest is VERY ADHD, has to have medicine in order to function in school. Otherwise he is failing everything. With medication, he is As and Bs.

We had one that was diagnosed ADHD (here in NC). I was dead set against medicating simply because of my lack of patience. But it was effecting her school work. We went through several drugs and dosages before we found the correct combo for her. Also had counselors that worked with her. she is now a junior in college.
Here's the pro of the diagnosis:
This diagnosis follows her throughout her entire academic career. If she has trouble in any way, taking tests, reading assignments, etc. the school (and/or university) MUST accommodate her.
The con of all this:
We had to go through several drugs over time that was very frustrating. And different dosages which was even more frustrating. It's like they don't really know what to do and we're just throwing darts here.
The other was the extreme weight loss. While on the "patch" she looked anorexic. When I asked a pharmacist friend she said, "oh yeah. This is the drug of choice with soccer moms." Seems they were getting their kids diagnosed so they could use the patches to get slim.
If you decide on a clinical "solution", ask questions, do your own research. Look into diet. There are certain foods and additives that effect ADHD.

If you were able to trim your snapchat videos from about 3 minutes in length to maybe 8-10 seconds, you could probably spend a little bit more time intentionally focused on him rather than him having to convince you to put your phone down.
Gotta admit, its probably hella annoying for him to have to watch you make the snapchat videos, then watch them when you send it to him, then see it again when you post it on Facebook.
