From 1999-2004 Clemson ranked dead last in the ACC in football facilitiespending

Deserves a new thread since geech72 and jstoneD329 took it so personal over the weekend. Even calling me a liar. This is a portion of a 5 part interview with Tommy Bowden back in 2016. It's behind a paywall but gets even more in depth throughout the series. I'll only cut and paste the free portion of the article.
Cut and Paste: Published Jul 18, 2016 Share: The Tommy Bowden Files TigerIllustrated Publisher
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- In 1998, coming off a No. 8 ranking and an 11-0 regular season at Tulane, Tommy Bowden was one of the hottest names in college coaching.
Bowden, the son of legendary Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden and considered part of college football royalty, would soon find his way to Clemson to succeed Tommy West, following the Tigers' 3-8 mark, the program's worst season since 1976.
From 1999-2004 Clemson ranked dead last in the Atlantic Coast Conference in football facilities spending, yet in that span Bowden managed to take home ACC Coach of the Year honors twice. But while Bowden's staff lifted the program's recruiting, also averaging eight wins a season and dominating arch-rival South Carolina, the Tigers' drought of conference titles would continue under his watch.
In August of 2008, Clemson was billed nationally as one of college football's top 10 teams, but stumbled to a 3-3 start. Following a 12-7 defeat to Wake Forest on an ESPN-televised Thursday night matchup, the fallout began the following Monday with Bowden resigning under pressure, and then position coach-turned interim head coach Dabo Swinney firing Bowden's offensive coordinator, Rob Spence.
In May of 2011, I met with Bowden at his home in Panama City Beach, Fla. for what was his first, one-on-one, exclusive interview since his departure from Clemson on October 13, 2008. It was here where the 57-year old placed himself back in Clemson's head coaching chair one more time to revisit his nine-and-a-half seasons as the program's leader.

We could buy gas for .25 cents a gallon back in the late 60's and that is about as relevant as what we spent on football facilities 25 years ago. It's not about then, it's about now, and our facilities take a back seat to no school.

Listen up Valley Coot. This post is in reference to me being called a liar over the weekend when I said Clemson was dead last in the ACC in spending on facilities during the Bowden era. I know you coots read on a 5th grade level so you're excused.

This means nothing. In those 5 years Clemson was probably way ahead of most ACC facilities to begin with.

Even Duke got a new locker room during that span. Bowden wouldn't even take recruits into our locker room because it was the exact same one Danny stood in during the 1981 season.

How quickly people forget that Dabo had to fight to build what we have now. Our facilities were outdated from the late 80’s until Dabo got into the arms race. Bowden couldn’t recruit blue chip players because we had no indoor practice field. Our weight room was simplistic and not great. We had no Reeves complex. Rumors of coaches using satellites to spy on our practices ran rampant. Dabo built it. Recruits started to come.

During Dabo's early years they had to move pro day outside in the pouring rain. The NFL brass on hand deemed our old indoor make shift facility unsafe. Dabo was extremely embarrassed. The next year we had a new indoor facility in place.
During one big recruiting weekend under Bowden they had a backhoe do some digging to make it look like new facilities were under construction. Recruits were shown drawings that weekend of the plans that had not gotten approval. When some of the recruits visited another school (I think Georgia), they were asked is Clemson still showing those drawings?

Okay maybe a little personal. Especially thinking back to being told I don't know Clemson football history.
Heck I've even got a copy of this book autographed by Bob Bradley. Read it several times just because I was fascinated with the history of the program and the old pictures.

A. I spent probably 30 minutes responding to your posts. Somehow in the midst of being obsessed with you I found time this weekend to attend Clemson graduation, a birthday party, a mother's day celebration and travel 500 miles. Just think what I coulda done if I hadn't spent ALL weekend obsessed with you.
B. If you believe Clemson was actually DEAD LAST in spending for any significant time you need to go back and Read that book by Mr Bradly
PS Bob Bradley was the nicest guy in the world. I wouldn't say I knew him personally but I did sit next to him several Sundays at Clemson UMC while a student.

Clemson was not DEAD LAST during the Bowden era I already proved that as false

Since you're clearly unable to navigate a website here is a screenshot showing we were at or above the median in ACC football spending for at least the last 3 years of Bowdens time.
Your whole argument is that Dabo singlehandedly built Clemson and MADE us invest in football; this is patently false. I agree Dabo is the best thing that's ever happened to Clemson football, but he isn't the genesis of people caring about Clemson. Have you ever heard of a guy named TERRY DON PHILLIPS? He took over as AD in 2002 six years before Dabo was named interim; by TDP i might add. Even if our expenditures lagged at the beginning of Bowdens time TDP certainly made sure they didn't at the end.
PS I don't buy Chris Ards assertions about spending there are more reliable sources that definitively refuted it; one of which I shared with you and you ignored.

The subject heading in my post SAYS FROM 1999-2004. You're showing some amateur looking screenshot from 2005 to 2009. Why are you such an ### clown? It's also a fact Dabo sold his vision to the BOT as even TDP had his hands tied. I've already wasted too much time arguing with a #### ant such as yourself.

You lost that argument so you created a new thread and changed the parameters in order to assauge your ego. That's pretty bush league. The original link i shared with you is from a respected source; i shared this screenshot because you clearly weren't able to figure out how to find the data on your own. Here's the link, again, if you wanna try again
PS if you haven't heard of the Knight commission look them up; their data is on a different level than a fan web site

I didn't change my argument you knucklehead. Money finally started being spent and a little less than 2 years later Bowden resigned. Even when the WEZ opened it was better than what we had but nothing special. In that other thread I even told you UNC got their version of the WEZ in 19 freaking 95. Over a decade later a FOOTBALL school such as Clemson finally gets one. That tells you all you need to know about the old BOT being cheapskates.
I'm getting ready to take an early lunch. When I get to the end of the parking lot I'm going to get out and argue with the stop sign. I'll have better luck with that than you admitting you were wrong.

Check that a little less than 3 years later Tommy resigned. I had 2007 stuck in my head for some reason.

You're absolutely wrong that Clemson was DEAD LAST in spending during the Bowden era - that has been conclusively refuted
Dabo was not the sole driving force behind our facilities modernization. TDP got the ball rolling and Dabo took it to new heights.
