considering loses.
Laid an egg against the National Champs and lost the 4th quarter against the coots.
But I expected the 7 we got.

I've never thought too much of polls in general, esp the AP (writers') polls -- too much bias, not credible...
Like this guy's final ballot below (he's the South Carolina football beat writer for GoGamecocks.com, so I'm not surprised we're ranked so low by him...anybody with an ounce of a brain can see his obvious bias).
But again, no surprise: typical low-class behavior - unprofessional and to a degree, unethical. But regardless of ranking, so proud of our Clemson Tigers -- THE BEST IS TRULY YET TO COME!
Josh Kendall's final Top 25 ballot for The Associated Press for the 2013 football season.
1. Florida State 2. Auburn 3. Michigan State 4. Missouri 5. South Carolina 6. Oklahoma 7. Stanford 8. Alabama 9. Oklahoma State 10. UCF 11. LSU 12. Baylor 13. Oregon 14. Louisville 15. UCLA 16. Clemson 17. Ohio State 18. Texas A&M 19. Duke 20. Wisconsin 21. Southern Cal 22. Washington 23. Kansas State 24. Vanderbilt 25. Mississippi State

Well, although I rarely respond to the media, Mr. Kendall

will find an e-mail awaiting him this morning, questioning his journalistic integrity, as well as his thought processes.
As far as I'm concerned, there was absolutely no excuse for his low ranking of Clemson other than an extreme bias that sullies whatever reputation he has as a journalist.
And he needs to read that...over and over and over.

I love it. Of course I am what you call a "coot". Bottom line really is that both USC & CU had great seasons. No, neither team accomplished everything on their list for 2013, but as fans we all still have something to be very proud of in our teams. This season is over so now we've got to start a count down to 2014's season and see how things play out.

Grats to both teams!
I have never seen both finish in the top 10.
Heck, rarely does my Gamecocks finish in the top 25. (sad admission)
Lets meet next year with both of us undefeated in the Real Death Valley!

What gets me is...

...that the preseason rankings will look nothing like this. We already got Mark Schlabach ( SEC Homer ) putting us at #18 saying that it's gonna be hard for us to win without Boyd and Watkins but has SC at #13 even though they're losing virtually their entire team.
All these people that want to talk about the SEC winning 7 in a row, a big part of that is preseason rankings.

Not only does he coach, proclaim the "bowl champion team" but he also ensures quality control at The State paper.

the only thing i have to say is NO top 5 team should lose to a team with a record like Tennessee's. I have no issue with them being ranked ahead of us since they beat us head to head.

AP poll is garbage, has been for years

And should not just be ignored, but ridiculed for its completely flawed rankings system. You need look no further than their rank of Notre Dame (#20 vs #25 in the coaches poll) to see just how biased the AP poll has become.
I saw SCar was at #4 in both polls, which is pretty hard to fathom...but then I started looking at everyone under them and couldn't come up with a bulletproof reason why SCar should be ranked lower than any of them. I guess they got #4 by default. That's annoying as ####, especially considering who they lost to, but I guess it's the way things work.
I'm satisfied with a #7 ranking--that's frankly higher than I thought we were going to go. I didn't think Stanford would fall as far as they did but it's tough to put a 3-loss team in the top 10.
