Between NIL and transfer portal some teams are banking on the portal more than recruiting players from high school so the recruiting class rankings don’t matter to them or the team ability in the full scheme of things. Since recruited signed kids are not contracted and will and can transfer easily rankings will not hold true for most. So for a program like ours that does not depend or seek to depend on building or managing a team using the portal the rankings matter greatly!! To others not so much. Am I thinking through this right?

None of it matters anymore. Anyone can leave anytime via the auctions.

Rankings have never mattered except to fans who obsess, signing players that can help matters.
