Maybe Florida. We don’t have much beef with Florida other than that they are in the SEC plus some Florida fans cheer for Trevor Lawrence because he’s on the Jaguars and a lot of Gator fans are Jacksonville fans.
So yea I guess my answer would be the Gators then.

You mean Spurrier? No. I honestly forgot he coached at Florida. He honestly should have stayed at Florida or gone literally anywhere other than UofSuck.
I only kinda like the Gators because some of their fans cheer for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence is the head guy there.

and what they have accomplished. How can you not respect the accomplishments - they are all impressive.
But, I think I like Auburn the most other than Georgia.
Auburn is blue collar and down to earth much like Clemson and Clemson is my favorite ACC school

Since 1980 among SEC teams, only Georgia and Alabama have won more games
than Clemson and only Bama has won more National titles. LSU,Ark,
Ole Miss,Vandy, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida and SC have been riding on the
glory of the top two in about the same way the ACC and Big Ten have two
blue bloods and a bunch of pretenders. Texas, TAMU, Oklahoma and Missouri
are SEC teams in the same way Nebraska is a big 10 team.
And Dabo has an all time winning record against the SEC and Big 10. Why would
any Clemson fan have a favorite SEC team?

aTm. This is due to working with a few aTm graduates in Houston, and they were nowhere near as obnoxious as Texas fans. I didn't like aTm when Jimbo was there.

....but I have a healthy respect for 'Bama.
I don't "hate" SEC teams, but I do hate ESPN. It's hard to have a favorite team from that conference for that reason alone.

Growing up in the 1960s and 70s in the rural Lowcountry there were very few options for watching college football on TV. Most of the coverage was ND, UCLA, the real USC, Ohio State, Michigan, and Nebraska. The only teams from the South that you saw much were Bama and GA. I pulled for Alabama and Bear Bryant as a young child before I even knew where Clemson was. Once I got into high school and “discovered” Clemson they became my favorite team and when I attended Clemson it was all over. Tiger for life, but Bama remains my second favorite team.

I have no ties to Texas A&M but really enjoyed the culture and the area of College Station when I went to the game in 2018 in Texas. I like the fact that they're a bunch of cult-like weirdos like us, and we had a great time out there, so I am neutral about A&M. Not going to pull for them but also don't really root against them like I do every other SEC team.
I also have some family ties to Kentucky so I don't root against them but also don't root for them.

Not this year. All the espn love this summer has been for Clemson. A bunch are picking Clemson to win the whole thing. Hardly anyone is picking LSU in that game.

To be honest.... Probably Texas is my favorite. I have no issues with most of the schools except the cooters. Passionate fan base, good football. I don't have an issue with any of the SEC schools except the cooters. I wish we played SEC teams more.
I wish we started every year back and forth with UGA.... 45 minutes apart makes too much sense not to.

Grew up a UGA fan. Now I find it hard to say anything good about them. In southeast GA we were a motley mixture of UGA, FSU, UF, and Auburn fans. Had some friends go to Auburn. Whenever I visited everyone was welcoming, the girls were pretty, and they've got an agricultural/forestry background like Clemson. Had good experiences when we played against them as well. No problem with Arkansas or Missouri either. The rest I generally dislike.
