This is such a crazy situation for us in our house. I am 4th generation Clemson, and my wife is 3rd generation Oregon State. We’ve always had the conversation, what would it be like in our house if The Tigers and the Beavers played each other in a post season game…? She’s been listening to me pick apart everything in DJ’s game for over 2 years, heard me yelling at the TV, etc. Now he’s the QB for them. Im not sure if he will do better over there or not, but one thing is for sure: how he does this season will tell us if Streeter or DJ was the bigger problem during our offensive struggles.
Even with all my complaints about DJ, it’ll be pretty cool to have a former Tiger leading my wife’s side of the family’s offense this year.

The last time I tried to find anything about his spot on the depth chart, it looked to me like he was going to start. I did see something about him being 3rd when he got there; but the last interview I saw with him said he was taking reps with the 1st team.

has DJU moved up from 3rd on the depth chart? This might explain his comments.

This seems to be the truest, most earnest + to the change...

Uiagalelei is really enjoying the anonymity that wasn't available as the starting quarterback in Tiger Town.
"It's something different from Clemson where every player, they recognize you, come up to you, ask you for a picture," Uiagalelei said. "Here, it's nice, I just walk around, me and my girlfriend, go eat. No one knows who I am. It's great."

it's not good to be under that constant microscope. He was seeing a therapist for good reason.
Hopefully he finds his way.

Im glad hes feleling less pressure. He seems to be able to perform to his ability when less stressed. Im sure Oregon ST has plenty of safe spaces for him to unwind. All kidding aside I think he excels out there and leads the beavers to a good bowl

He won’t start and if he does it won’t be for long. They aren’t bound by promises with him like Dabo was. He won’t hold them hostage and polarize the program there like he did here. I think they have a really talented true freshman and a returning starter. That was literally the only school that wanted him.

I think this year will most likely show it was a combination

of both, hence why neither one of them are here this year. After listening to KR's interview it sounds like our offense had become a jumbled mish-mash of random plays from the previous 6-8 years with no overall concept. Probably why we didn't seem to have an identity on that side of the ball. At least the idea of something new (and hopefully some improvement) creates a bit of excitement that seems to have been lost the last couple years.

He seems like a nice young man but he is the most erattic passer I've ever seen. He man make some of the greatest hard throws and mis some of the easiest. I don't know why that is but it will keep him from any real success in football until he fixes it. That isn't OL or playcalling those are on the dude throwing the ball.

No 2 teams or 2 offenses are alike. Let us know how things work out by the middle of the season.

The man was hit by a perfect storm of events largely beyond his control.
He handled it with exponentially more grace than I would have at his age (or likely now).
I'll be pulling for him.

Very cool that you're 4th generation. I'm 3rd generation and have never met anyone that was 3rd or more myself.
