years won't count against his eligibility. So I guess JUCO guys will now longer have those JUCO years count against the number of years they can play Division 1 college football. It just never ends.

I’m not sure why JUCO should have ever counted against them, they went there and ground it out. In some cases they don’t even have scholarships, and definitely don’t have good facilities, for someone to stick with it with no pay to get to a D1 school in todays NIL world where high schoolers have higher pay than some NFL players says a lot about dedication.

Just my two cents, kids transferring 3-4 times to different D1 schools is more of a problem than a JUCO player transferring.

Well, I definitely agree with you on your last paragraph.***

Hmm. Does that give new portal WR Tristan Smith two extra years also?

First two seasons were at a community college.

Overall, this is not healthy for college football IMO. It's for coming of age men, not grown ##### hitting their physical primes. These 6, 7-year stints are no longer on level playing fields in a way.

Never thought Jr College should count. Most are there because of academics , gotta have 3-4 year at big boy school to graduate.

You make a very good point re JUCO time counting vs not counting against overall FB eligible years at college.

Scenario: A JUCO player has 4 seasons in Junior College. He takes every single course at JUCO school and makes good grades. With the potential for a new rule that excludes years spent in JUCO from a player’s college eligibility, then he could reasonably have nine (9) years of post-HS eligible football to play.

Think of how this might really help the player’s lifetime earnings. By the time he gets to ‘real’ college, he’s reached his adult physical maturity. His chances of getting big NIL $ are maximized. Five years of good NIL $ … greater payout than if he arrived at ‘real’ college in a lsss than fully developed stage … would be a heck of a head start on life after college even if he didn’t make one of the professional leagues.

Don't they only stay 2 seasons in Junior College ?

Heck, why even have limits of eligibility at all? Just play college ball until the NFL drafts you. It's basically a semi-pro league now; except Clemson. LMAO.

Does that mean anything for our portal WR?***

Who really knows, but it’s much more likely that the NCAA will grant Tristan Smith a second year of eligibility with us.

Any restriction on years of eligibility will be next card to fall.
