Lack of talent and depth from the get go - some luck and schedule

imbalance meant an overinflated record and now things are starting to show in the game results. This team was middle of conference or worse in critical stats both in batting and pitching. Most folks just wanted to bury their heads in the fluffed up record.

A bad combination of things:
1. Played the toughest part of the schedule
2. Pitching injuries showing our lack of depth.
3. Poor plate approach leading to a ridiculous amount of strikeouts.
4. Teams we played were hot while we're not.

Sums it up pretty well. We were overrated and overachieving but, recent Pitching issues have hurt. Duke is on a heater, FSU and NC State are good and NC State just blew us apart, on a very bad weekend. This is worse than I thought, but this team was going to lose a few series in this stretch, which was very tough. Lots of mistakes too. There is still one week left to improve postseason seeding, even as grim as it may seem right now.

Winning is better than losing so yes it does. It won’t help RPI much if at all but let’s just wait and see before you declare this team dead.

I think they drank too much ranking Kool-aid. They are better than what last 3wks have shown but I think they got too complacent. I still think they will knuckle down and get feisty for the post season. That said, I do believe we were overrated at #2.
