"Clemson Memorial Stadium Seat NumbersSeat numbers in Clemson Memorial Stadium do not follow traditional seating chart patterns. The aisle runs down the center of each section in the lower bowl. Each split side of the section contains only odd or even number, with seats 1, 3, 5, 7 on one side and 2, 4, 6, and 8 on the other side of the aisle. Any section along the sideline will have odd numbers closest to the 50-yard line. For sections V-Y along the end zone any seats with even numbers will be closest to the sidelines."

Odd numbers are towards midfield; Even numbers are away. For the end zones it's the same idea except the field is split down the long axis instead of the short axis.

It's a weird numbering scheme that I've never quite understood, and it confuses thousands of people every year, but there is an odd sort of logic to it.
