The jumbo screen and speakers have been in for several years now, I still don't like the volume that the speakers are set to. Yes it's LOUD. I won't argue that. I think it has had an impact on the crowd noise. The volume is so great that it discourages the crowd from being loud. By the time the speakers are muted, the crowd is relatively quiet. There is no need to be loud of we're being drowned out. As a result, the fan base does not know how to be loud. Even after the band is announced in pre-game the band sounds anemic.
I think back a few years ago, the crowd noise was deafening at times... the noon Miami game that was 150 degrees, TAMU, Notre Dame, Louisville (caused several false starts). I don't think the current crowds could not be that loud because they rely on tue speakers system.
I think the loud speakers have actually been a negative.

The current jumbo screen and speaker system hasn’t been in for several years. This is just year 3 for them. Also, what home noon Miami game are you referring to?

at times it was tough to understand because you were gett ing sound from each endzone a split second apart mudding the effect. Dal Gleber speaks very clearly and when at tim e you have trouble understanding him that tell me its a little off balance or timing wise.

I think winning has hurt too. Just imagine the last 60 home games only 3 times fans went home with a loss. Something like that. I mean mid 2010’s we had a lot of big games in Clemson. Not so many here recently. The last huge game we had in Clemson was Lamar vs DW4. We had Auburn and Texas am since then which were big games but not like that Louisville game. If we get to host a playoff game I think you will see a different type of crowd.

I believe our stadium would sound more like that Miami game if we were playing opponents like Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Texas and LSU rather than boring ACC teams.

The scoreboard screen looks like it was possibly dropped out of the back of a pickup truck on its way to the stadium.
It’s also bush league that now after a touchdown, the band no longer plays it’s just a recording played .
And yes. the atmosphere was horrible Saturday. This home schedule and noon kickoffs are damaging the reputation of Death Valley. Going and watching NCSU,UVA, etc. is tough for fans to get up for. Not a SEC admirer however the atmosphere in that stadium would change drastically if we played teams who actually brought fans . I bet UVA didn’t have 200 fans
