These are direct quotes from David pollack on a podcast, referring to The U of SC fan base ...

¨Even when they weren't winning games they were sold out and into their team¨
First of all, this is just completely false and ignorant to say. Even last season this wasnt true but definetly in the past seasons since Spurrier left it has been the opposite of what he is saying.
I sent this to a buddy that is a Carolina fan and he also thought this was laughable.
I remember a couple years ago you could by Carolina football tickets at Costco and pick which game you wanted to use it at.
Not very long ago, Carolina was loosing to FCS teams like the Citadel while all 10 fans that showed up to the game were sitting in the parking lot pre-gaming for their inevitable DUI.
I dont know why everybody is hopping on the U suc bandwagon after 1 mediocre year but I am ready for this to end and for us to reclaim the crown as the dominant team in the state.

Exactly are you freaking bragging for them. It’s Ws and Ls and in the past 4 years we are 2-2. SC is dancing in the streets while that is unacceptable for us. Shows the difference in the two fanbases expectations.

I probably dislike SC as much as you do but it's hardly the case last season was mediocre. They rebounded from a five-win season to win 9 games last year. Their losses included LSU, on a questionable call, and a Bama game where, if Sellars doesn't toss a two-point conversion into row 8, they probably win. They also beat their rival, who was a conference champ playoff team, on the road.
If you want to say they are getting too much hype this year, I'm with you. But last year was a big success for them.

Clemson and USC COLUMBIA fans have the same disease — denigrate your rival especially when they are successful. That’s too bad. We should both want to beat a successful and highly ranked rival. It only enhances our own resume. But, boys will be boys, I suppose.

I’m not sure what they portaled in or out, but they have talent at the most important skill positions. If I remember correctly they have a 5 star O-lineman that was a freshman last year that I would imagine would be better this year.
The defense definitely has to reload in some spots but i really like their coordinator and would imagine they’ll be at least average on defense.
Can see 8-4 possibly

A few exceptions here and there, and we've seen the aluminum outs in the 2nd half when the drunk wears off and they're down, but for the most part they show up. Bless their hearts.

Why you using three years? When people do that they are showing bias. You. Closing coot? How about 5? Then we are 3-2. See how that works? Also would you say it’s just SC being better or Clemson being worse? Definitely Clemson being worse and SC can thank their lucky stars for
1. COVID
2. NIL/Teansfer portal
COVID year really set us back with recruits. Then the transfer portal and NIL showed up right about the same time. Not how Dabo was building those NC teams and he has had to learn to adapt and in that time span SC has had a couple very close wins that could have easily gone the other way.

To be fair he played in the days SC absolutely would pack it out for every game even when they were bad. That’s because that’s all they ever knew. Once Spurrier spoiled them they got depressed when Chump had them back to regular old SC and their fans decided they didn’t want to cheer on a crappy team at that point. Now they are insufferable with a couple 8 and 9 win seasons under Beamer. Sellers is Lamar Jackson 2.0 and they have the best WR core in the nation and their D just reloads.
Can’t wait until reality hits them hard. That D carried them last year and they have put all the praise on Sellers. I mean yeah he’s a decent QB. Top 15 in the nation but if that D played like it had in the past 12 years they would still be 6-6. 2026 they don’t have the depth or talent and are looking at another season of “what happened? I thought we was good” “Oh No! We Suck again”
