One of my favorite players growing up watch playing. Saw him play in the old Riverfront Stadium a few times. I’ll never forget him throwing out Craig nettles at home plate on the fly at the All-Star game. Pete Rose a Phillie 1st baseman called him out!

One of my friends played in the minors with Parker. My friend was about 5'9", 170 lbs. and said that one of his teammates was like 6'4, 220 lbs, was faster than my friend, a better hitter, and had a better arm. When the manager called in my friend in the middle of the season to let him know that they were going to "give him a chance to show his skills elsewhere" he knew what that meant. The guy taking his place was Dave Parker!
