It’s coming. The House vs NCAA settlement is going to bankrupt the NCAA. They can’t afford $20 million payouts per school. The B1G and SEC have been expanding and consolidating power to build a super league. This liberal judge in the 9th circuit court has destroyed amateur sports forever. The only hope we have is the bill Tommy Tuberville is trying to sponsor to bring common sense guidelines to the dollar side. The tail is wagging the dog and it isn’t sustainable.

The NCAA isn't paying the $20M per school. The schools are paying it, and they can afford it.

Many schools will not be able to afford $20m payouts and they will drop other olympic sports to stay competitive allowing revenue sports to cover most the expense, not sharing revenue across multiple sports. Those schools may decide to only pay $10mil while it reduces the number of athletes. I could also see smaller schools dropping back to FCS level like the Woffords, Furmans, etc.
Honestly, I dont think State Funded schools should be in the business of paying athletes to participate in school funded activities. These athletes are given tax free benefits that would cost you or I easily $200k annually to earn a top notch education and given a platform to audition for pros plus exploit the NIL $$'s.

Wait a sec...allowing players to profit off their own image and likeness is liberal now, and allowing an institution to aggregate the value of the work-product and labor from its value producers is conservatism?
I give up.

And the value of a scholarship is not compensation? A 4 yr scholarship can be worth $150,000-$300.000

or a lot less. In any event, it's peanuts compared to what the coaches are making.

It’s more than that monetarily if you consider lifetime earnings. But it’s also the Ring and what you experience and how you grow. And all those now paid athletes are benefiting from all us crazies who donated $100 a year for many years doing our part to help build this program. Just think, there was a time 50 years ago when we almost couldn’t believe ND would come to little old Clemson to play a game. Now it’s going to be an annual rivalry game. No, we Iptay members didn’t score any touchdowns. But where would the program be without all those I Pay Ten A Year folks? These kids getting $400,000 a year to play a kid’s game need to understand the shoulders on which they stand. I hope and pray this system gets fixed.

I have great sympathy for your argument, but for my part, the element that is college is a qualifier for me. However, this only goes do far the individual athletes within the context of being a college athlete. When it comes to video games and such i think the athlete deserves a hefty cut. Of course, the school, conference and NCAA are certain to get in on the payout as well. I agree with others in that the scholarship is payment.
Should scholarships be revoked when players are making huge money to play?

The definition of "liberal" is not "anything I don't like".
Conservative capitalists believe the market dictates value.
Big-institution socialists believe they get to dictate value.
Definitions matter.

What about the decision for the market to dictate the value of the labor seems liberal to you?

I'll be honest here...I grew up in Clemson, played a little football in the Ivy League, but mostly just tried to keep my sanity and get that Ivy League degree, which I did (by the Grace of God that I learned about at First Baptist Church.)
I am a fiscal conservative and a social liberal. I believe in a strong military defense but not waste of money or lives. I served in the marine reserves in the US and in ngo aid the middle east.
I'm for the school, the players, and the coaches. This whole thing is not an either/or, it is a both/and.
At first I was resistant to the end of amateurism in college sports, although, I also always believed that these athletes deserved life time health insurance and that every player should be taken care of to graduate with as much assistance as was needed for their particular situation. I've known true Clemson heroes that were good, hard working people, but didn't get the special support they needed to finish their degree, and were driving delivery trucks after their time bringing glory to Clemson football.
I love how Dabo has adjusted and does his best to run this program that I'm proud to support. Jeff Davis will always be one of my heroes. I'm happy for the kids. I hope and pray they and the coaches get what they need and deserve. If you don't like it then don't by a ticket or perhaps even cancel your cable bill that you use to watch all this drama.
SO MY REQUEST IS, can we please take the polarization of politics in America out of this sports conversation. It's destructive. Civil discourse, democracy, and the our market system...like it or not...can settle things over time.
I think the "he said/she said" banter is a waste of time. LONG LIVE THE HEROES OF MY BELOVED TIGERS today and tomorrow as we all evolve through our ups and downs to try and create a better world.

Any time the 9th Circuit gets involved, you can virtually be assured it will be in favor of the destruction of all things America!! College football being one of the institutions they want to destroy.

BB league / From the BIG
Indiana Illinois Purdue Rutgers
From the ACC
Duke WF Syr Stanford Louisville
From the SEC
Vandy Kentucky Coots
And the entire Big East and Pac 12 and Big 12
The remaining schools from ACC, B1G , SEC to form power football league.
