Not just that feller, but the whole culture of that place that enabled and covered up for that feller.

The fact that he hasn't been beaten to death in prison is disappointing and an indictment of the entire state.

Yes, Paterno was and always will be a dirt bag. Psu should have received the death penalty. But you're dead wrong on the culture. State college is just like Clemson. Probably as close as you'd get in comparison.

I am very familiar with Central Pennsylvania and Central Pennsylvanians. We will just have to disagree on this point.

I guess we will. I've lived in both places and both have good people and bad people. I find the culture very similar.

I lived in central Pa for a while years ago. The football program was so prominent I am amazed the Sandusky stuff was hidden for so long. YOu would think word and innuendo would have gotten out. I think these years later it would since everything now seems to get leaked.

His promotion is from Franklin to Dabo and he won't have to fight the frozen tundra during spring and fall.

Living in Penn compared to living in God's country and you think this is a lateral move?: My goodness, working with Dabo who is one of the GOATs of NCAA football, turned BV into the best DC in the nation, one of the GOAT DCs?

I'd take a cut in pay for that opportunity.

BV was a proven GOAT. Oklahoma just didn't realize it, and now cbv is realizing why. I agree with you on working for Franklin.

As for "God's Country " state college is no different than Clemson. Sorry to bust your bubble, but it's a great small college town. I lived most of my life in south carolina. Moved here 4 years ago, had relatives up here for 30+ years. It's no different. Facts.

Learn how to read. Yes, they're dirt bags everywhere you go. Apple and orange.

I explicitly said state college and Clemson are just alike in terms of culture. That has nothing to do with what one or two dirt bags did.

Pure speculation on my part but I'm thinking he and Franklin may not have gelled all that well. Franklin has now lost his 3rd DC in 4 years. All probably had good reasons but something just seems off there to me.

Franklin is made in the Harbaugh mold, except he wasn't a quality NFL quarterback. Plus Pennsylvania is cold and gray six months out of the year. Who wouldn't want to move to South Carolina and Dabo if you are a fine, upstanding person?

Program vs Program - pretty much lateral

Money - still TBD but I am guessing pretty lateral, maybe we gave more performance incentives

Coach vs Coach - its not even close. Dabo is far and away the better coach. Just look at the rings and trophy case. Franklin hasn't really won a truly big game before, his own fans clown him for it. SMU and Boise were nice wins, but not a big win. There has often been rumors that Franklin is difficult to work with. Ohio residents flee to SC but Penn residents flee to the DMV (DC, Md, VA) so I hear a lot of grumbling every year

He's going to get a raise, too. I would bet 25-30%. People think that isn't significant when you already make a high salary but percentages don't lie. He could be making an extra $1,000 per day, every day. That'll speak to almost anyone.

ESPN article says his daughters live in the Carolinas. Sounds like he wants to be closer to family. Also his son is supposed to take an analyst role with Clemson

I’m assuming the pieces we have coming back is exciting to a defensive coordinator. We have some really good pieces. Woods and Parker. Brown and Woodaz. Terrell and Hampton. I don’t known what Penn state has coming back from their defense. Maybe that had something to do with it.
