Solid 25 minutes of big booms. Bravo for emphasizing quality AND quantity during a year of pyrotechnic austerity and seemingly ever-increasing pet sensitivity. Big booms belong to Independence Day.

Seriously about the pet thing - it seems like each year brings even more wailing and melting down and hand wringing about dogs and fireworks. I love dogs and fireworks, and I love calendars, too. I knew when I got a dog that each year at about this time, according to my calendar, all the local Americans would be doing noisy things, and though my dog might perhaps be affected, he would indeed sUrViVe ThE tErRoRs. Are dog breeds just progressively getting less tolerant of loud noises? Or is it just the loudest Americans getting less tolerant of loud noises?
