Clemson, SC—Clemson will take two seniors, two juniors and a freshman for its lineup at the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golf Championship this weekend at The Club @ Olde Stone in Bowling Green, KY. It will be the first time the league championship has been held in the state of Kentucky.
This will also be the largest ACC Tournament field in the history of the event that dates to 1954, as Stanford, California and SMU will compete for the first time. The tournament will be played over five days with the 15 teams competing in stroke play from April 24-26 with 18 holes per day. The top eight teams after stroke play will then advance to the match play tournament that will determine the overall champion. The quarterfinals will be held Sunday morning April 27 and the semifinals on Sunday afternoon. The championship match will begin Monday morning, April 28.
Clemson has played in every ACC Championship. The Tigers last won the title in 2021 at Capital City Crabapple Course in Atlanta, GA. Clemson has won the ACC Championship 11 times, including 10 under Hall of Fame coach Larry Penley. Eight times a Clemson golfer has won the individual ACC Championship. Jacob Bridgeman, now a full member of the PGA Tour, was the last Tiger to do it in 2022.
Clemson will be led at this year’s ACC Tournament by senior Andrew Swanson. The native of Bluffton, SC will be playing in his third ACC Tournament. He finished 14th at the league championship as a sophomore and was 30th last year. He leads Clemson in stroke average this year with a 71.50 figure and has a team best three top 10 finishes. He has finished in the top 14 in each of his last three events.
Lucas Augustsson will be number-two in the Clemson lineup. The transfer from East Carolina has a 72.50 stroke average this year and has 10 rounds at par or better. The native of Sweden led Clemson to the team championship of the Palmetto where he finished third last month with a one under par 139 for the 36 holes.
Kian Rose will be number-three in the Clemson lineup and has the second best stroke average with a 72.27 figure. He has nine under-par rounds this year, second to Swanson’s 13. Rose is the only Clemson golfer to win a tournament this year, as he captured the Briar’s Creek Intercollegiate in February with a seven under par score of 209.
Junior Thomas Higgins will be number-four in the lineup. The native of Ireland has a 73.85 stroke average this year, but he has had two top 14 finishes in his last three events. He was fifth at the Palmetto and tied for 14th at the Chitengwa Memorial as an individual. Higgins has played 26 tournaments and 75 rounds as a Tiger golfer over the last three years. His 63 in the second round of the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional last year was a big reason Clemson won that tournament.
Freshman Colin Salema rounds out the lineup at the number-five position. The native of Matthews, NC has a 73.22 average for the year. He has played in six events, just two in the spring semester due to injury. He had a top 25 finish at the Chitengwa Memorial in his most recent performance that included an opening round 69.
