Schedule format.! UNC has at least 3! So we get to play FSU who will be gone 1st and a higher share of Syracuse, Cal, Stanford, etc.

ACC it's been real. See ya!!!!

DavidHood® is there any info on how these were selected? It does seem odd that UNC has 3 and we have 1. Surprised we wouldn’t keep at least 2 with GT and maybe NCST as a 3rd

GT told the ACC they didn't need any protected matchups

There's an article out there that says the ADs for GT & Louisville told the ACC they didn't need any protected matchups in order to allow the conference more flexibility when creating the schedules.

Wouldn’t this mean a higher likelihood of have one of the top 2 winning percentages and thus an easier path to the ACCCG and thus an easier path to the playoffs via the P5 AQ status?

Asking for a friend.

The disaster of more meaningless games vs Cal, Stanford, Syracuse, etc. ?

If it means a greater chance of a National Title? I’ll take the losers.

There will be the novelty of Cal and Stanford.

If memory serves, we owe Cal one from the ‘92 Citrus Bowl, and Stanford would be looking to avenge the ‘86 Gator Bowl.

It will be cool to see some teams from the left coast, imo.

I would imagine the conference urged us to have few, if any, protected matchups so that we end up playing everybody every few years to make other teams schedules more attractive.

It may be related to the ACC knowing that Clemson and FSU are gone soon. If there's any hope in this news it's that the ACC is aware of the inevitability that we're gone. It would make the ACC's future scheduling less painful for those teams which stay.
