Hypothetically if some billionaire that was an alumni or booster of say Florida Atlantic was able give every player a million plus though nil collectives and hire away the best coaches and staff from around the country could compete for a natty. It could happen but not likely.

Schools have ALWAYS bought championships. They've paid the best coaches and those coaches have given players money (that's not a new development).

Yeah, they have been getting free room/board, healthcare, education, meals, training, electric, cable, iPads, phones, weightlifting, tudors, entertainment, Nike clothing, suits, plus monthly Stipend around $500/mo. That is well over $6digits annually just for signing LOI since none of that was taxed income. People act like there was money flying all over the place. Yes, I agree there were some handshakes and coaches knew Kirby, Ole Miss, TN, and few others were handing some 5*'s money but it wasnt as crazy as people suggest on the football world.
But the shoe money for AU players was pretty crazy hence the FBI. But look at those schools today, Duke, Arizona, UNC, Louisville, Kansas, Michigan, Mich St, Iowa St, are all pretty pedestrian nowadays that they are not getting the top 25 players every year now!
