If we don’t take a serious look at our hitting and pitching coaches and lack of development this year then Clemson isn’t serious about baseball . You can’t finish 14-16th in league in hitting and make NO changes ? I know pitchers are hurt but the ones we have are not performing at the level required at this level . We have pitchers balking runners over that look like they don’t know what a balk is ? How can this be happening ?

I think alot of it offensively is pure talent… I really just don’t think we are that good there to be honest . Not near what people had hopes for or thought this team would be … it’s near pathetic watching this team hit.

People may not want to hear this....it's starts with EB...
He refuses to incorporate analytics into his strategy and it's costing this team wins...

His pitching decisions have been downright awful this past couple weeks and I absolutely love coach Bakich but he needs to look in the mirror and apologize to his team because his heads in the gutter right now.

Completely agree...He's all orange through and through but man he's made some head scratchers.
He's sticking with Creighton for far too long...his unwillingness to play matchup vs the opponent....it's mind boggling.

I don’t hate the decisions honestly… I mean that’s easy to criticize after the fact. I’m beginning to worry why we can’t get better kids here , I mean we all were made to be excited about this team and the transfers and to be honest it’s been very disappointing and don’t see anyone that is a game changer at all. This is still barely a top 25 program that could win a regional with a lot of help until the recruiting picks up big time or the portal use gets better.

Agreed. The transfers have been a net loss. Freaking gaffney is not at all what he was supposed to be, obviously the pitcher transfer injuries cloud the analysis… we just gotta recruit better and maybe the landscape of fully funded team schollies will help… who knows… but we have little talent as it stands

Yeah I like EB and think the overall problem is talent but he’s had some interesting personnel decisions I agree

Yeah but isn’t that what Monte Lee used all that analytics and how did that turn out.

And you’ll see some of those guys recommit. Why come here if you’re not given a chance to play as a Fr?

No he used analytics at the plate and it was a disaster....launch angle, exit velo...he wanted power....zero small ball.

There are freshman that could play and hit, at the very least what you’re getting now. EB has refused to let any of them play, even early season midweeks, to get experience for next year. Next year will be the same unless he brings in a bunch of portal guys. Bet you see a lot of this Fr class portal out. They see Fr playing every series and know they could play. Hell the starter for CC is a Fr and shut us down twice.

^^this ^^ against the weaker teams and mid-week games. Not calling anyone out but listi and paino played every game. Gaffney can catch... just saying, there were spots we should have been playing freshman at minimum mid-week games.
The only position he's rotated is right field.

And that wasn’t a rotation as much as letting guys play because you feel like you need to! Bissetta had a great summer last year but never got settled in this year before he got hurt. Crighton has ZERO power, and struggles mightily at times. EB loves both of them, so this are your corners next year.

finally figured it out. thought it was just basketball but we got a group much like basketball that can not wait for adversity to hit so they can get their claws out and b!tch. seems like that is the only way they can truly be happy. they immediately leave soon after a win but stick around to attack after losses. if things do not get better it will be a very disappointing season for sure but there are a minimum of nine games left if we do not win another game. i prefer to think we have way more than 9 left. seems to me when they are struggling is when they need the fans the most. but hey i am just an old school fart.

He’s not playing the freshmen and the portal players haven’t worked out this year. The recent coaching decisions have been head scratchers too. Coach deserves criticism for player evaluation and development. Living and dying by portal will create the ups and downs we’re seeing.

This staff has failed in the second half of the season, but it started with their evaluation of the talent they brought into the program. Very little power, inconsistent defense, no power arms and a lack of control on the pitching staff. This is not a good roster, but it "got by" earlier in the season against bad teams. That's not the case right now and won't be in the postseason. There are real issues in this program that have to be addressed.

I'm all for Bakich, but I would say let's spend more time on the fundamentals of the game instead of focusing on getting 10,000 people in the stands or selling beer. If you do your job, fans will show up. Right now, they're not doing their job.
