that has given your child such a monstrous first name that they go by their middle name instead.
Any parent that has a child that goes by their middle name and not their first name I instantly judge.
Looking at you Liam

There is a boy here whose first name is a girls name

Like they were just dead set on that name but also didn’t want to know the gender. So every single sub he has he has to go up and let them know before roll call that his name is X but he goes by Y bc he doesn’t want to be bullied for his girl name.
He is already a chubby nerd so if they only knew his real name it would be bully central for him.

like Lynn Swann or Lynn Dickey. Also, Nolan Ryan's first name is Lynn. Can be male or female, but more female nowadays.
I see this with "Taylor", used to be pretty much exclusively a man's name, every Taylor I ever knew was a guy until recently. Not so much any more with the Taylor Swift phenomenon.

I go by my middle name

because I am a Jr and they (I guess my mom primarily) didn't want me and my dad to go by the same name. Or have the curse to be called "Little Jimmy" or "Little Sam" or whatever for most of my life.
Pretty happy about that personally. Though it has caused confusion in the classroom and several other occasions to have to answer to two different names from time to time.
I bet I know a dozen or more guys that go by their middle name. It's not as rare as I once thought.

Robert Underwood Smith, but yet he goes by "sammy" or whatever.
Makes no sense to me.
