I tried powerline extenders and they worked just ok.

I currently am using a simple repeater that is doing fine.
A mesh system would be best, but of course is the most expensive.

PowerGrid networking works great if it's not a laptop that you move around - Zyxcel gets close to gigabit inside the house.

Nest WiFi isn't extenders, it's a mesh system.

They work really well. I've had Linksys Velop(bought because Google WiFi was sold out) for over 2 years, and can also vouch for the Google WiFi system.

I use Google mesh and it works great. If you can wait a bit the prices may start dropping next that the new next/mesh system just came out

Someone on t-net recommended Google Mesh to me pre-season as my wifi extenders did not perform very well, and I constantly had issues. I found a 3-pack on Craigslist for cheap, and they work extremely well and keep the bandwidth at its peak. No more complaints from the wife since her laptop no longer has those spinning hourglass issues.
So if you prefer to avoid complaints from others in the home trying to use the wifi, fork out the bucks if you can and get the Google Mesh. I can't remember who recommended that, but you can thank him if he can be found.

I can confirm. Tried a bunch of extenders that were hit or miss and a huge pain to configure. We put in the Google mesh last Xmas and it's been great. It was super easy to set up and very much worth the money. The mesh is great because it's all the same network everywhere.

When I tried to use a wifi extender, the poleece called it a torture rack and tried to arrest me.
