Due to Tennessee saying no to their “NIL king QB”. Will this teach kids to quit being so greedy and be happy with what you got which in a lot if not most cases is a whole lot more than just free tuition and room and board. Unfortunately I don’t think too many players will even think about it. Instead they will transfer quietly when they aren’t getting paid enough.

They’re going to learn that all they have to do to get paid is leave.

Your post is premature as we don’t know if the young man made the right or wrong move until we see where he signs and the $ value.

2.4 million wasn't enough? Obviously not enough for Nico and time will tell if he made a good choice. He had a contract with the collective and chose to break it. I hope the collective has the ability to sue him for failing to "live up" to the specifics of his deal.
I graduated a long time a go (1979) so when I was in school all the students (even athletes) had very little money and we all survived. We had beater cars, ate cheap pizzas, drank cheap beer but it created a strong bond among my friends that continues as many are still friends nearly 50 years later. These friendships really have a value more than money; something Nico will be missing out on.

Dude has an agent telling him he is worth $4M+ so he chose to listen to the agent. If a recruiter called one of us working slobs and told us our current employer was paying us half of our value, most of us would be interested in testing the market.

My guess is it is more than an agent telling him he’s worth $4m, but that one or more schools are telling the agent they’d pay $4m.

Tennessee was paying $2M.
Carson Beck got $4M for one year.
Nico made the right decision for his bank account. I don’t know if it was right for the other aspects in his life.
On to a more important topic for the longevity of the United States: Why do so many people struggle with free market capitalism?

Because sports and free market capitalism is a farce. Do your research. We can also tell when an asset is overvalued and trying to create a bidding war. Some idiot will pay up.

If you win the lottery do you take the lump sum or the structured settlement that pays out over 20-50 years…..everyone takes the lump sum because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

I hope so. But I doubt Nico will be the last to hold out in the current era of NIL.

👁️ concur with your assessment. This is the next big thing for college athletes. This will happen because someone is always ready to pony up for QB talent even if they are mediocre and untested.
